We stayed for one night, and from the start, the owner made us feel really welcome. The location is fantastic, peaceful, with fresh mountain air that instantly helps you unwind. There was plenty of parking, which made arriving stress-free.

The beds were super comfortable, with high-quality cushions that made a real difference, we slept so well. The provided shampoo, gel, and soap were thoughtful touches that made the stay even easier.

Breakfast was just what we needed before a day of hiking, fresh, tasty, and filling enough to keep us going.

We’d absolutely recommend staying here, and we’ll be back. Thanks again!

A warm hearth and an even warmer welcome.

We spent the weekend at Ye Olde Bowling Green with a somewhat demanding group of 8, after being let down by a local AirBnB. Samantha was very happy to put us up, and what a weekend we had! The rooms were spotless, the homemade pie bountiful, the local bitter delicious (and reasonably priced!), the beds comfortable, the breakfast tidy.. the list goes on!!

An ideal location at the heart of the beautiful Peak District, and this is an inn that will truly make you feel at home.

We had such a wonderful time, and are already planning our next visit!!

We went for the Christmas menu weekend, and I must say it was such a lovely experience, Sam and her staff always make you very welcome.we had turkey and all the trimmings, it was one of the best Christmas meals I have ever had, food was piping hot and presented perfectly. Food was perfect and a good size portion, could not fault it at all. Really enjoyed it, The lemon citrus tart was amazing and so delicious, finishing of with coffee and mince pie. Lovely night with family.

Lovely old pub which is currently revitalising after a change of publicans. The views at the rear of the building are spectacular and there is a lovely garden here. Inside there are lots of lovely little rooms with beams, low ceilings, and open fires. It is a dog friendly pub and the welcome was delightful. I went with friends to a club meeting and they have a great room with a big central table, just off the main bar area. I deliberately arrived early and had my lunch here. The menu is typical of a country pub and I opted for a staple. Fish and chips... it was freshly cooked and the fish was battered in house. It was a lovely fresh piece of fish. There was tarter sauce and lemon, as sides, together with mushy peas. The portion was decent and I really enjoyed it.
During our meeting we had teas and coffees which were nicely served on a tray. The owner and staff were very helpful and welcoming.
This pub also has accommodation but I have no information about the rooms.
This would be a great place to stop over if you were taking advantage of a weekend away.

A lovely welcome from the owners - all family run. Great food and drinks and a very homely pub. Perfect for a holiday getaway and, I'm sure, a great area to live. We were renting a cottage nearby so can't comment on the rooms, but others in the dining room seemed very happy.

When I went there last year, I had a great experience. Very warmly welcomed by staff and their friends. Pleasantly surprised to find they had a dj playing great music all night. I was encouraged to get involved in the evening with lots of dancing. (I wasn't allowed to just sit down). I will fo back there when I get chance. (Neighbourhood cat was very friendly too)

Our personal experience of the Olde Bowling Green Inn is detailed below. |The booking experience was good having booked the day before on the telephone. The pub is in the small village of Bradwell up quite a narrow village road but the frontage of the premises is large with ample free parking in a large car park. The building is well painted and looks clean and inviting from the outside. The interior is traditional with smaller rooms off the main bar, clean and comfortable. Up onto a mezzanine style second floor is further seating, one side darker and more intimate the other side which is more like a conservatory with large window making it brighter with views over the large well presented beer garden with a good number of picnic style table ms and views over the Hope valley area.|The lady owner was friendly and accommodating as we did turn up for our booking early but that was not a problem for her. We sat on the mezzanine level on the more intimate side, everything was clean and comfortable and the service from the owners daughter was excellent. She was polite, friendly and efficient about her duties. |We had the Sunday lunch menu and there was a good choice of meat options plus vegetarian/ vegan option. The meat was served with a selection of vegetables, mashed and roast potatoes and a large Yorkshire pudding and a large jug of gravy. Proper sauces were available in ramekins; apple sauce, cranberry sauce and horse radish sauce together with the standard sauce options. The food was hot, well presented, tasty and good value. They offer standard plate or smaller plate size options and a combined two course option if required. |There is a good selection of beers from the cask as well as lager and a good selection of wine by the bottle or glass. |All in all a very good experience and well worth the money we paid.
