Brought my boyfriend to Woodbank as he has never been previously after I told him how good it was and was really disappointed.
The plants had not been watered sufficiently, if at all, the soil was very dry and a lot of the plants were dying or dead.
We picked up a 4 pack of bedding plants, which at least one of the cells in each were dead, they were advertised at £1 so we were not too worried about the dead cell, however when we got to the till it was £1 per cell, even though you can't buy one cell individually and no where stated that as shown on photos.
We stopped for a bite to eat. Both got jacket potato. They were undercooked, had no butter or spread which made them dry. The BBQ chicken topping was small and the tuna mayo had very little mayonnaise. Only plus side was the really nice tasting coffee.
Generally the outside areas were unloved and tatty and some of the greenhouses were full of junk.
Barely saw a staff member in the greenhouses, plenty of staff in cafe and gift shop area. Till area was staffed well and got through quickly.
Safe to say won't be visiting this garden centre again and would advise others to stay well clear, especially when we spent £75 in total here. There are better garden centres around.

Great garden centre. We came here for the animal encounter in the summer holidays. The girls enjoyed seeing the animals, they stroked the bearded dragon, but decided against holding the owl! The slot machines are great too. Lovely centre to wander round.

Called in for few items, all of which were in stock, and plants healthy.
Went for lunch to see how the revamped restaurant was. V pleased to see it had been returned to table service, friendly and efficient staff, and good food. We both chose steak and ale pie. Full of tender meat. Proper thick chips and very fresh seasonal vegetables. Lots of yummy gravy. Real comfort food. Very clean, nice atmosphere.

I have visited several times lately whilst planning a wildlife pond. Being a complete novice, I now feel more confident having received practical advice (and lots of patience) from Matthew and Mitro. I should also mention the friendly but professional service received from all the staff regarding general advice, especially Luke on the counter, still providing the same standard of service as I completed my visit. Makes a shopping visit more pleasurable when staff are friendly. Thank you

Everything for your garden plus a great retro amusement arcade taking old pennies. Great at Christmas and also dog friendly everywhere. Lots of spacious parking. There are some lovely local walks nearby. From the smallest flower to the biggest tree, you can get it here! Amazing emporium! Very helpful and knowledgeable staff too.

What a lovely friendly place to visit. All the staff, without exception, were happy and helpful, nothing too much trouble and very knowledgeable. 1 of our party uses a mobility scooter and the whole place is fully accessible. Even mobility scooters and wheelchairs available for use free of charge.
We all enjoyed meeting Elvis, Bobby, Coco Brian and Barney. The penny arcade is brilliant fun and the attendant was fab.
Definitely we'll be visiting again very soon.

Garden Centre = 10/10! So much effort made making it a stunning Christmas Wonderland. Just WOW!
Cafe = 2/10 sadly... beautiful setting but poor experience and average food. A VERY long wait for paninis, GF version was a tiny sandwich lacking filling/flavour (Bacon, Brie, Cranberry should be delicious). Half a bloody plate filled with salad n slaw when I'd have preferred another bit of Brie in the bread! Who wants salad when you fancy a sarnie
Lady with short red hair was caring, attentive ,friendly - she could maybe train some of the others...it felt like one guy just totally couldn't be bothered with us!
