MACHINE REPAIRS? Don’t waste your time. I put my over locker in 8 weeks ago, advising it might be a faulty foot pedal OR The machine. Returned today to be told they’d changed the fuses, but it’s still not working, and they suggested it might be the foot pedal (really) or something ‘electrical’ (really). . They could not be sure as they don’t do electrical.! Totally incompetent service for which they charged £30. May be good at threading a needle for you, but I equally can’t vouch for that either. Awful.

I initially asked where an item was and received an unhelpful answer that left me struggling to find what I wanted. I then dared to ask for help and the assistant was clearly disgruntled. I apologised for inconveniencing her and was told to “get out”. I returned to work and told my colleagues what had happened and several of them reported experiences of rude service by different staff members working in this store.

Interesting visit to the shop. 2 members of staff were trying to sell a sewing machine to a lady who wanted to take it away. They clearly had no idea of the features of the sewing machine and gave incorrect information to the lady wanting to buy the machine. It was all a bit chaotic and definitely the staff lacked experience. Nice to go and buy some fabric if you know what you want but I won't be going in for advice. Not sure the staff know enough to help - hopefully on my next visit they will know a bit more after training.

This was on our list of craft stores to visit. They were so welcoming. Bought some great yarn for my next project.
Will definitely come again.
On the plus side, they were dog friendly, and let us come inside with our small dachshunds while I shopped.

The range of materials was good, though incredibly expensive. I was not greeted on entry or offered help. When I asked for help (the prices were not clear) the salesperson appeared disgruntled, as I took her away from her crochet.

Let me rave about this wonderful wonderful shop.
Long story short my husband is a knitter and I am a crocheter and many moons ago he lived in Witney.
This weekend we were in Witney and we decided to stop.
Let me go through the check list of how I "judge" a shop out of 10:
Selection (in this case yarns/pattern/hooks/needles etc) : 9 (ps they also have an incredible selection of fabrics)
Prices: 9.5 aside from some outliers the prices are very good
Customer Service: 10 wish I could give them a higher score 😆
(One of the lady remembered my husband when he went in years ago and needed a little help and it truly made our shopping experience even better)
They will provide advice, and they are just so so welcoming and helpful and lovely 😍.
Only downside to the shop is parking. Although in Witney there is a lot of free car parks but as I am disable I would prefer not to walk far!
We bought lovely yarn, and a fantastic chat with the ladies there.
If you are in the area this is the best shop for all your needs in yarns and even when you do not need anything!

An odd experience. I went in for sock wool and was rather ridiculed by one of the staff for spending £7 for two balls of wool when socks could be bought readymade so cheaply.....seemed a bit of a strange attitude to have.
