Everytime I’ve come here the staff are really helpful and informative.

It’s right next to the train and bus station so they can easily point you the right direction to head out for the day.

Very knowledgeable on the area and what walks are best to suit your needs and different ways of approaching them.

There’s also a locker storage facility which is £10 for the day which is very useful when you have a later train home and want to make the most of the day. Just make sure you check what time you have to be back to collect items out the locker 3:30pm in winter.

We had gone on another mountain goat trip before to Beatrix potter, so we thought that we would book this lakes full day tour, thinking that should be get poor weather at least we would have a coach to shelter in.
Boy was we wrong, the weather was lovely! We set off with our driver Tim and 5 other day trippers, which was great .
There were lots of breaks to use the toilet and light refreshments, so the sitting on the coach didn't become taxing.
Our driver Tim was excellent, my 80 year old mum has mobility issues, but he helped her throughout the day, he was a mine of knowledge, and he tested his passengers though the trip
As we were a small group, he took us to extra places, but kept to schedule .
As regards the tour, it was full of spectacular views, which you would expect from this part of the world
The tour ran the schedule, and when we arrived at our start point,Tim offered to drop my dad and mum and myself near the place we're I had parked.
The only criticism was parking, I had the park in Windermere and walk back to the drop off point.
To summarise what a great trip ( both of them were), great minibus driver .

Peter was wonderful. So much knowledge of the area. How he was able to talk, point out things and drive was amazing. Maneuvering on those tight roads and I didn’t have to drive was the best.

Thank yoooooou! The elder gentleman who helped check out my luggage was a real lifesaver! On hearing I gotta dash for a train leaving in five mins he went down retrieve my key saved me from hauling luggage upstairs so there’s extra two mins! Made it to the platform like a wild hare hair flying everywhere and the gentleman’s parting ‘Good Luck’ sprinting me forward. An extra note on travellers who depend on buses to tour the Lake—leave at least half an hour for your train! Left Wordsworth place an hour ahead but the buses are very, very slow at taking ppl aboard. Wish they do tap in like in cities. Going on an tangent now… But seriously the information centre has
a nice range of Peter Rabbits miscellanies, local mint cakes and dietary products, perfect for grabbing some while waiting for a train (hopefully leisurely!) And thanks to the lady who served me in the morning, gave warm reception at checking in the luggage. A million thanks 🙏

Bag storage is £10 but got charged £5 as only was two and a half hours left, which was generous. Lockers are quite large and would even fit big suitcases. Very lovely man and lady who were there.
