I've been intending to write this for ages. Let me start by saying that if you are looking for hi-fi Winchester Hi-Fi is the place to go and Andy is the man who absolutely knows his stuff.
We went to see him in the shop in late 2021, Andy listened to what we were looking for, made suggestions and helped steer us towards a hi-fi solution for our home.
Its wonderfully traditional feel in the listening room (and it is a wonderful listening room), you listen to music then Andy will show you how a different component changes the sound and set up. sometimes the difference is very subtle (depending on how good your own head based audio equipment is), other times it is really obvious. Its great being taken on the tour of set up and the advantages of them all.
So buying the kit is done (we wound up with a different set up to the one we went in the test - went for a "warmer" sound that pleased us more!) and Andy has used his expertise to find a system that we love,
Next is the home set up and again Andy came to our home and helped set up the kit. Everything was done in a really professional way and he is really personable which makes the whole process much more human (rather than being sold to).
We were lent the speakers we had listened to in the shop and we wound up buying them as they finished the system. One of the components was on a long order and when Andy brought them round there was a problem so Andy took them back and got it changed, no issues, no drama, just Winchester hi-fi putting its customers first.
I cant say how happy the system we bought has made us, exploring years of vinyl and hearing it on a great system has and is providing hour upon hour of listening pleasure.
Winchester Hi-Fi and Andy are fantastic local resource for audiophiles, the whole experience is informed with gentle expert advice and thoughts, made easy and comfortable and customer service is 10/10 (or 11/10 if your amp goes that far).
Cannot recomment enough.we will be using Andy and Winchester Hi-Fi again for some additional add ons (we didnt change our CD player and I would like a really good pair of headphones).
If you are looking for hi-fi then expertise in his field, range of knowledge about mulitple suppliers, customer service par excellence and making the whole experience a voyage of discovery and enjoyment makes Winchester hi-fi head and shoulders the best hi-fi shop we visited over a few years of searching for a replacement system.

Andy of Winchester Hi Fi is a very personable character and a pleasure to do business with. Nothing seems to be too much trouble, he is honest and won't try to sell you anything that doesn't suit your needs.
I've been using his shop since 2014 and don't see the need to go elsewhere, as he has a wide range of equipment available for demonstration and is expert in analogue as well as digital equipment.
