Unwelcoming older lady and while there’s a fairly good range they could do with offering packet sandwiches which most similar stores do. Quite pricey but I understand they’ve got to make money and the turnover can’t be that high. £5 card limit in this day and age is ridiculous. It must cost them 10p max for card transactions and when you’re charging so much already the profit must be in there to make the sale.

Have used this shop daily on my visit to this area and rather enjoy the width of assortment. It’s good to see local businesses doing all they can to provide a service, those that do deserve success. Today I was helped in a friendly and willing way until my purchase totalled £4:80 - I’d have to pay cash. When I challenged this I was referred to the manager, no the lady who served me wouldn’t pass on my feed back. While she was being fetched I went to get a fiver. The interaction that followed was appalling, I came out feeling unwelcome and frankly as thought it was my fault. At best this policy is badly implemented, surely some discretion should be applied and in this day and age it’s short sighted and nothing like the good service that would help a small business prosper.

Awful snobbish local shop for local people with overpriced everything.started buying pastys in here everyday for 3 weeks and always paid cash. One day i forgot my cash and went to pay with card and was told it was minimum £5 spend, ok fine so i went to use cash machine inside shop and it was charging £1.80 for the privilage, so i decided i would buy some item i didnt want or need to tip over £5.00, fine i understand shops have to pay some charges. But heres the thing next to me was a lady buying a chelsea bun for £1.35 and when she presented her card the assistant said oh thats ok seeing as its you and swiped it through and off she went. So I politely asked why she could pay with card under £5 and I could not. And then I got the instant bu##s##t oh it's because she's local and the £5 limit is discretionary. Well if she was local why was she presenting her card for under £5,. And what is meant by discretionary. Would it apply if I had blue eyes but not brown or how they were feeling that day, or perhaps if i was wearing work clothes instead of a suit. I wonder how far this bigoted attitude extends. Couldnt be bothered to stand and call them out on their blatant bigotry and lies and left and shall never return, shame really I would have been quite happy to buy pastys in there everyday forever. Will never understand why people defend their lies with more lies rather than just put their hand up and admit their mistakes.
