As per petition of the owner I'll explain why I voted 1 star.

First of all will note that the owner confronted me directly in this review, accusing the account to be fake, and threatened to report me. It is not fake and you shouldn't be reporting when you don't agree with things.

Second, the reasons for voting 1 star and not leaving a comment.
The product that I bought was mispriced in your system. I want to believe that because in other way this could be very close to a scam. When I got it from the storage the price in the box was marked at basically half of what you charged. I asked about it and after a quick glance to each other, the person at the till doubled down.

Felt scammed in that same second. And as I didn't want more confrontation, I asked for the receipt immediately to return it later with some excuse. No need for drama I had already my fair bit.

Then I went to a different DIY shop where I got exactly the same product at approximately the same price that you had in the box. Almost half of what you charged.

There's another big store down the street, and there was half of what I paid in the other shop, almost 4 times less that what you charged... If not mislabeled in your system, it's massively overpriced.

I appreciate the value local shops bring to our streets, and that's why I bought first in yours and later in the second shop, paying more than going to the big dogs.

Even I would return to yours eventually, and I understand that a bad review could be better left unwritten, to not scare customers. That's why I decided to not leave any comments.

But you want a review, here you have it. I won't be returning now though.

They are Simply no 1..I would say the best Hardware shop in Islington. You can't wish for a better service. The managemnt/owner Harry and all of the staff are Super professional, and friendly always on point helpful, knowledgeable, and the personal care and attention given. They absolutely all go above and beyond to be helpful and to accommodate your order no matter how much you purchase. If they have not got what you need they will order it in. I can't thank them enough

We are fortunate that we have establishments like Upper Street hardware in Islington. Really convenient for the odd DIY project or general household purchases. It appears very well stocked, but with the restrictions in the size of the shop it can be quite challenging to navigate and find exactly what you are looking for. Everything has been jammed into every space which can make it quite overwhelming.

Generally the staff are quite helpful in pointing you in the right direction if you are looking for a particular product, but they could be more helpful by taking you to the spot you need rather than just giving you an idea., as it can still be really difficult searching, with so many items.

10/10 experience. Cannot rate this place highly enough. The staff are so helpful and go above and beyond to assist. Have been in several times and always left happy. Great local neighbourhood DIY store that is much much bigger than it looks and has everything you could need. Highly recommend!

Unbelievably friendly hardware shop in the heart of Islington that sells DIY do it yourself everything and anything you need!

The staff go above and beyond to solve your issue and sell you only the things they need. The shop is deceptively large and stretches backwards with plenty of aisles filled with everything from screws and nails to boutique door handles!

Great store for curious people!

I pestered Donna with millions of questions about power tools and preferences which she gave very good insight for (thanks again).

First time I go to a hardware store where they arent rushing you to get what you need and get out lol. Kind and willing to take the time you need so concerns over brands/quality are checked 🙂

Really well organised, lovely staff and they honestly have everything you could need all under one roof!
