Delicious cakes and pastries, we got some to take out and were not disappointed. The Cinnamon Swirls were wonderful. Staff were really friendly and happy to give recommendations. The best cafe we visited in Holt by a long way!

Note - I give this café a 4.5/5.

Two Magpies is a lovely café in Holt (with a few other locations across the UK).

The interior is very cozy, welcoming, and has a lot of options for seating. I was really pleased they allowed dogs inside. They also served puppuccinos with little treats on top that were downright adorable.

I was really pleased with the abundance of treats available that catered to a multitude of dietary restrictions (vegan, vegetarian, gluten free). Of the ones I tried, the amaretto cookie and tiramisu cake were highlights. I found the lemon square too bitter for my personal preference.

The coffee itself is good, but I wouldn't classify it as 'speciality' per se (i.e. they don't serve single origin beans from independent roasters). If you're not a coffee snob, then this won't be an issue whatsoever.

All in all, a lovely café I would check out while in Holt!

It was a delightful place with a wide variety of cakes, pastries, sandwiches, and all sorts of tasty things to eat. We ordered some coffee, which was great. The Almond Bisscoti was crunchy outside and moist inside. The Friand, which is very rarely on the menu in many bakeries, tasted lovely. The staff are very welcoming and attentive. It was teeming with customers and busy. The atmosphere was great and the interiors were nice. The display was fabulous and made my mouth water. Excellent place to stop if you are in Holt for a nice cup of coffe/tea and cakes.

Genuinely don’t get the hype about this place, I think it’s all in the branding, all style and no substance. The coffee is honestly tasteless, the cakes and pastries, though they look lovely and are very instagram friendly, are far too complicated for their own good (can a cheese twist not just be a cheese twist and not an adventure in dairy products…) and are inedible either as they’re far too rich or dry as a bone from sitting out for so long. There is barely anywhere to sit for such a big place. The staff are very lovely but the food offering has all the hallmarks of tipping over in to mass produced banality as it’s a little chain - I feel if you can buy a branded dog bowl you’ve probably wandered a little far from the “artisan bakery” path….

Delightful little bakery in town. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Such a good selection of baked goods! We had the sausage roll and the rocky road, and both were Devine!

I'm not usually a sweet pastry person, but somehow managed to leave Two Magpies Bakery with not one, but two - I wonder if that's how it got it's name Both were absolutely delicious.

Beautiful inside, a huge selection of pastries and savoury food, great looking sandwiches and and the hot chocolate is great.

The added extra bonus for me is that it's very dog friend, even saying as much on the sign outside. We met a gorgeous Norfolk Terrier pup who should be employed as permanent staff really as he brought so much joy.

If I could find somewhere local to me that made pastries this good, I'd be a happier, heavier, person.

Well I'm a Southwold Magpies fan so when I saw this branch in Holt I knew where I was heading for lunch. The selection of cakes and pastries on display is as I would expect and looked fantastic. However although I can say that my coffee and tiramasu cake was lovely the Croque Monsier was very poor. Served warm the edges were inedible and the rest was soggy and over oily. If this is how you like it you are lucky, but it is not for me. The worst part of my experience was the service. I don't expect to be treated like I'm at the Ritz but a degree of civility and ability to perform your role should be a given. Four staff were visible front of house 2 male who were very busy and helpful. The 2 female staff were very disinterest and not engaging at all. The worst part was trying to pay when we were very obviously ignored even going to the counter and requesting to pay. I bet if I had walked out of the shop they would have noticed then. However it did give me a chance to observe that friends can get a discount. It's very easy when writing these reviews to take good service for granted, but when you get bad service it really stands out. Sorry Two Magpies Holt I won't be back, I will stick to Southwold

Delicious snack with a cup of tea (even the tea was leaves not bags). Highly recommended. I had the Spiced Moroccan Roll. I expected it to be a spicy sausage roll, but it wasn't it was all vegan and really really nice. Holt itself is a top marks village/town to visit with loads of quirky and speciality shops and nooks and crannies. Great on a sunny day and a must visit for Norfolk.
