Obviously, Thornton’s is a little more expensive than the supermarket meats but the taste is 100% better. More flavour, better gravy, just FABULOUS!

I've been frequent customer of Thornton's for the last few years and have enjoyed their products especially the pork pies, meat pies and bacon.

For this Christmas we placed a large order including chicken, ham, pigs in blankets as well as a personalised pork pie. The service was as friendly and professional as ever and when we needed a date change to collection they patiently amended our collection date. My step-dad loved his personalised pie and is happy to volunteer as a
pie tester if ever needed!!

The worst pork pie ever, tasteless no seasoning and full of gristle. Total let down Christmas day went straight in the bin a waste of £13.00. Bacon full of salt that pigs in blankets you couldn't eat. Spolit Christmas dinner. Would never shop there again. Your response to my complaint is no acknowledgement of poor service only an excuse for poor quality blaming high demands. I am a regular customer and tend to spend up to£50 each week, so feel I will now have to look for a new butchers with hopefully a better standard of customer service one without seasonal blame.

I’ve shopped at Thorntons for many years and the food, friendliness and service has always been excellent. John and the team run a great family business and it is nice to see a local business and local people being so successful. They often give good advice if needed and will always try to help out. I have been meaning to write this review for a long time though have never got round to it which is a shame. What prompted me now was the terrible review they have recently received which was so bitter and out-of-proportion that it merits special mention. If you have been going to the shop for a long time and spending up to £50 each week, you’ve clearly been happy, like the rest of us. Yet no positive review given at any point for this? However, one alleged bad experience later and you see fit to write such a negative review. Why you would not go into the shop to mention this, if it was actually the case (we bought the same products, plus many more, over the same festive period and they were delicious), and give them chance to put this right? Why write such a bad review at Christmas time which can only hurt a genuine small local business we are lucky to have in Easingwold? I don’t understand the mentality of some people seeing fit to just go around and give people a one-star review, especially which the owners would see over the Christmas time with their family, rather than try and address the issue with the business. The fact that the owners responded with an apology, which was very genuine, seems to have been met with another edit and more moaning, is astounding. We should be getting behind local businesses and supporting them, especially give the tough last couple of years we have all had, not being petty and bitter because one thing didn’t go right when all the times before clearly must have been for you to have been an alleged regular customer in the first place. Everyone I know in the area has nothing other than positive things to say about Thorntons – keep up the great work guys!
