Anything less than a 5 star rating would be an insult to this absolute gem of an establishment. We were a group of 4 and randomly chose to eat here as we like to try places that we haven't been to before.. what a find..!!!
Being a landlady in the past and working in hospitality for many years I always find myself judging with a slightly critical eye but I could honestly not find one fault. From the moment we arrived, the bar was busy yet we were greeted immediately and was served very quickly. The menu choice was extensive and mouth watering. We all settled on different items and our order was brought out and presented perfectly. Each member of staff was professional, friendly and helpful and all looked like they enjoyed their work and were proud to host, which really added a personal touch to the service. The meals were delicious, the meat was cooked beautifully and fell off the bone, there were ample potatoes and vegetables all round and we all thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. Not being able to resist the dessert menu, we had a short break before squeezing in amazing, home cooked puddings.
This wonderful, traditional, country pub excelled and was a credit to the owner/manager, with an obviously highly talented chef and a fantastic team it was by far the best I have been to in a long, long time. The little touches really make the difference and we are looking forward to returning next week with other friends to share our new fave place to eat.

The white Swan is a nice popular cosy village pub specialising in food. There is no pool table or dart board in the bar. There is a good choice of beers lager and cider including two hand pulled cask conditioned real ales which were in excellent condition when i visited. The staff are friendly and welcoming. There is an outside decking seating area and a car park.

Me and the wife decided to go here for some food recently as we live in Hemingbrough and thought we'd give it a try. We arrived when it opened so we were the first people in and were greeted and told we could sit wherever we liked. After sitting down the bar man asked us what we would like to drink and said he would bring it over and put it on a tab for us, we then ordered some food and there was far to much for the 2 of us, the nacho sharer to start was like a main meal and we were far to full of delicious food to finish our mains! To sum up the food was amazing with an enormous selection and the service was lovely as well, we will definitely be coming back here to sample the rest of the menu soon.

This lovely pub was recommended in the welcome book at Still Rabbit Lodges where we were staying. We were not disappointed. Lovely friendly environment, welcoming Landlord and waitress. The home made lasagne was scrumptious. My husband had the steak pie. It was packed full of meat, butter soft. (I tried it). Make sure you're hungry because they're very generous portions and you have to eat all of it, because it tastes so good. Haha. ?

Cannot recommend this place enough! We went for a birthday date night for my husband, and the staff and owners went above and beyond for us! They had put some banners on the table and sung happy birthday with a cake, it was absolutely amazing!
The food was excellent, and the CHOICE was incredible - it must have taken me 20 minutes to decide what I wanted off their extensive specials board!
I cant wait to come back!

Salmon in chilli sauce was very good.
Bbq chicken very dry and chips were awful and I would suggest as refried as they were hard and cooled quickly. Also no dressing on salad. Overall a poor experience and will not revisit.

Booked a last minute Sunday Lunch & they fitted us in. The meals were enormous, I had the roast dished up with 3 vegetable side dishes. I couldn't manage it all but they no issue wrapping up my left overs for my doggie. She thoroughly enjoyed her roast ?

This place was incredible. We asked if they could rustle up some cheese and tomato sandwiches on a busy Sunday lunchtime roast serving, and they did. Not only did we get a salad but crisps beautifully presented and they tasted lovely. Thank you for going above and beyond.
