A big thank you to Annabel and John for providing us with a perfect venue along with super food and drink for our wedding reception.

Set in a beautiful location, our guests were able to park easily in a private paddock and walk easily to the church. Everything was very accessible. Some of our guests were able to stay in comfortable rooms at the Red Lion too. We all had a fabulous time.

The hard work that was put in beforehand made the accomodation, paddock, private meadow and gardens look so lovely - the food and drink was delicious and plentiful - it all ran smoothly and was very much appreciated.

Thank you! - Jackie & Guy

An outstanding English pub in a very beautiful English village. The main road through Blewbury belies the incredible village that exists alongside. A warren of small roads lined with well kept houses, riverside leafy walks and history in abundance, seems to lead back to the Red Lion pub. Well it did for us. The pub has been extremely tastefully refurbished and provides everything a great pub should. Good food, good ale, good company and space to do it all. The staff are frenetic in their attempt to provide the best service and manage that with great humour and communication. Easily one of the best pubs I have ever visited in a long life and will return for more.

3rd visit:

They simply do not ever disappoint. Places like this and the wonderful people that run it are extremely hard to come by. I have found John and Annabel to be the most lovely, welcoming and entertaining hosts. If anything was to be an issue they would bend over backwards to help. They truly put their heart into running one of the most unique village pubs I've ever come across. My partner and I did not eat there this time however the food has always been perfect. This time though I thought its only fair to give them credit for the unparalleled service they continue to provide. Thanks again Red Lion @Blewbury. We will be back for sure.

1st visit :

Absolutely outstanding! This pub has got to be one of the best hidden gems I have ever found. The landlord, John, is very kind, welcoming and polite. Nothing is too much trouble. The other staff are also brilliant. They are all friendly helpful people. The pub itself is a lovely building full of character and is very clean, tidy and well kept. The room are very clean and well presented. Great selection of drinks too.

The food was excellent. Great choice of meals to choose from. We had a fantastic stay here. Would definitely highly recommend.

We went for a nice Sunday roast lunch and were met by a very rude server who when we said we would just like tap water and not alcohol went "Oh well that's not very good is it" and was very disappointed we didn't want expensive drinks, particularly alcoholic. Then the food came, and the Yorkshire pudding was more like an omelette, it tasted eggy and the rest of the meal was mediocre at best. I really wouldn't recommend for a Sunday lunch
