We stayed here from 7th to 10th April 2025 and have to say it was excellent throughout. We had room 8 which is very clean, well maintained and spacious, which was very useful for our small dog to run around in. It has the most comfortable of beds, a large screen wall-mounted TV and a small seated balcony overlooking the harbour. It's the most beautiful spot to welcome the morning. The room service was daily and thorough. The breakfast is top of the range with an excellent choice of items. Altogether we were sad to leave but take away the best of memories.

We stayed there whilst walking the South West Coast Path. The pub is very well positioned right at the start of the walk. ||It was Easter when we were there and it was busy but the staff were attentive and friendly, and there were tables to be had. Dinner and breakfast were both good (and plentiful) and there was live music on Easter Monday which was great.||The only slight niggle was that we had requested twin beds but the bed was made up as a king. They realised when we checked in and offered to rectify it over dinner but they were obviously too busy and forgot. It wasn’t a big problem and I would definitely recommend staying here, particularly as it’s at the nicer end of Minehead.

Thank you so much The Old Ship Aground. for hosting our wedding reception. Lisa-Lee did everything she could to arrange the back room to meet our needs, paying attention to every little detail. We had the carvery and, as well as being delicious, there was loads to eat. Giant Yorkshire puddings yum 😋.
All staff were friendly and welcoming. It was a perfect venue for a perfect day! Highly recommend.

What gem of a place, we stayed here for a few nights over May Bank holiday.
My husband has mobility issues & Matt the Manager & staff could not do enough for us.
We would definably recommend a stay or just a visit for food which is also excellent.

My son and I were greeted with a lovely welcome and upgrade to a balcony room overlooking the harbour. Very comfortable and clean with a delicious breakfast. Sad we had to come home. Thank you! We will be back

Initially disappointed at how far away from the town center it was but turned out not to matter as it had everything I needed for a single night stop over, lovely staff, decent room & bathroom, free parking & WiFi, good menu choice in the bar, plenty of real ales and a cracking breakfast, plus it overlooks the harbour and is next to some great forest walks leading on to the SW coastal path. Will be back.

We visited for an early evening meal but hadn't pre-booked as we stopped off in Minehead on the way home from Cornwall and was looking for somewhere to eat. We walked through the pub and lots of the tables were reserved but we found one without a reserved sign on it. It was when we went to the bar to order that we discovered that our table was actually reserved but they had run out of signs! Fortunately, as we only wanted one course, we could fit in our meal before needing to leave. Two of us went for the veggie burgers and one the veggie flatbread. All were fine and plates cleared. The kids menu is confusing in that you could choose a main with 2 sides. However this does apply when choosing the pasta main, which needs to be made clear. Staff were friendly and overall a good quick meal.

Quiet little slice of heaven. After a long walk on our holiday we stopped in for a refreshing drink. The place felt welcoming and the staff were lovely. The other punters were friendly and quite talkative to new comers. Will be back again
