I was absolutely blown away by the customer service here at Ely Motorist Center. My story was I simply needed a couple of spokes for a wheel on my MTB, so I called ahead to check if they had any in stock. Jake was super helpful on the phone and suggested I bring the wheel in, so my Dad and I made a small trip to the store with the wheel

Once we arrived, we were looked after by Nathan, the bike specialist. His enthusiasm was infectious from the moment we met him. He had loads of spare spokes and he politely asked if I wanted him to fit them.To be honest, I wanted to do it myself—I thought it was a simple fix and figured it would be a nice little father-and-son bonding job to do on such a nice day. Plus, I thought I’d save on what I assumed would be silly labour costs just to replace two spokes.

How wrong I was.

Nathan continued to share his expert knowledge with us—even for such a small purchase, which is so rare these days. He had all the proper tools and a professional workbench. Out of curiosity, I asked how much it would cost to have him do it. His response? “Only a tenner.”

This was a no-brainer.

We got to watch and a gain knowledge as Nathan gave us what felt like a personal workshop experience. My dad and I quickly realized it wasn’t just about swapping out a couple of spokes—getting the wheel aligned and true takes real skill. It was such a great experience, and we learned so much. All for just £10! Honestly, I felt like I had to buy something else just to match the value of the service we received.

Even though we only came in for a couple of spokes, this time I’ll definitely be coming back here for any future bike work. A lot of businesses could learn from this kind of customer care. Dad and I was talking about it all the way home. The world needs more Nathans. Thanks buddy

Greetings.
I have to admit I am very impressed with the overall superb customer service at this shop.
So I've taken my steed there in the past for a tune up and a service and the staff really know their stuff when it comes to both cars and bikes.
Especially as well as letting you know what you're paying for and how much it will cost overall.

My pedal fell apart on a ride, and tried 2 other bike shops who couldn't fix it. Last call was the Motorist centre in Ely, and the bike mechanic there did a fabulous job at fixing it. He called it "bodging"...I would say it was thanks to his years of experience and skill that he was able to sort it (using his stash of bike bits and tools). My pedal didn't just get me home, but withstood a week cycling the Rebellion Way and is still working fine.
Much appreciated being able to complete my cycling holiday. Thanks so much.

Highly recommend these guys. Very helpful over the phone helping us with issues with our roof bars, which Halfords sold us the wrong parts! Went into Motorist Centre Ely shop, the guys very helpful and very reasonable price. will definitely be using again. Thanks guys
