This was the first time we decided to go away for Christmas and without hesitation decided to go to The Lodge Hotel. We will forever be pleased that we did, as we had the most special, wonderful time we could ever have imagined. We stayed in a dog friendly superior room, as we took our mutz with us, who, incidentally were as spoilt as we were. The room was delightful, the bedding crisp white sheets and a snuggly duvet. We had a little Christmas tree and gifts left, both for my daughter, myself and the dogs! The food was simply amazing, informal except for Christmas Day Lunch, which was served in a particularly beautiful restaurant, which was staffed by happy, informative and polite staff. I could go on and on about this fabulous three day break, but maybe I should keep further best bits to myself, and let the joy of the Christmas be yours to find out. I can’t close this review without thanking Britanny, the super Manager for being there for us, her assistant manager Kitty and Josh for|Looking after us so professionally. By the way, we booked for next year as we departed, and can’t wait!!!

This is a comfortable hotel in the centre of Old Hunstanton. It is a good place for a short stay. Although on the main road through the village there isn't much noise. There are 2 car parks within a few feet of the front door but they do get busy in the evening. We had the room with the faux copper bath in the middle. Nothing wrong with it but I would prefer a separate bathroom. The room was spacious with tea facilities and was a pleasant place to relax. Downstairs is a lounge with open fire and armchairs. This is a great place for a drink or breakfast and the staff are helpful and amiable. There are 2 restaurants with one being more formal. We ate in the informal dining room containing a busy bar. The food was very good with a range. It is not haute cuisine however. There is also conservatory dining as well as outside tables when weather allows. There are a small number of other restaurants nearby as well as a small convenience shop. What males this family owned hotel special for a short break is the ambiance and informality with great staff.

Had a lovely two night break here. Room was lovely and so warm despite the bitter weather. Food excellent. We didn’t stray further than a bracing walk into Hunstanton. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly and attentive. Just the tonic we needed after a very busy Christmas period at work

We went for a lunch and the food was good although the menu is quite small.
The service was not great. We felt some staff training was needed. When my husband asked the young waiter what bitters they had he told us Guinness Stella Pirroni but didn't know what bitters were. We ordered drink but had to ask twice before we got any. Also although I am not a dog hater it would be nice if there was a dog free area. We seemed to be surrounded by them and did not like the waiting staff fussing and letting them lick their hands and then bringing our food.

Easy to find, plenty of parking which is a bonus. However, it is October so well out of the holiday season! |This was our first visit to the restaurant, generally speaking we were not disappointed. |The menu offered a variety of dishes, we both had smoked salmon for starters. The portions were very generous, the salmon delicious. |My main course was whole plaice. It was a fair sized fish, but my concern was it had not been cleaned before being cooked. |Other than that it was an enjoyable visit.

We have visited here many times before and stayed for a weekend before. It has always been lovely. We have never had a bad meal, however our most recent visit wasn’t great at all. We had good service and the starter of nachos was nice. But our main course of fish and chips was so overdone. For £18 I would expect better. The batter was so overcooked when you tried to cut it, it just crumbled. The fish was so dry and the mushy peas were stone cold. We would always have a meal here when we come to Hunstanton but we were left very disappointed on this occasion.

Great dog friendly hotel. Large bedroom with comfortable bed. |Nice modern bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. |Good food which we could enjoy with our dog in the comfortable bar or garden room.|Friendly, helpful staff. Lovely beach 5-10 minute walk away. Lots to see and do nearby, including good golf courses.

We had a two night break just before New Year. I was expecting them to say they were closed over Christmas and New Year. Oh No the place was fully booked and the restaurant was heaving every night.||Very popular! Excellent stay. Beautiful rooms and very comfortable beds. Lovely bathroom. We got the last room a twin and it was very comfortable.||Staff were all amazing. We had a great waitress both nights in the restaurant - Emmah.||You'd seriously struggle to find something to complain about. But on the final night there was one random heavy metal track on the playlist which really didn't suit their sound system 😜||We'd definitely return to try out other even nicer rooms they have to offer
