Amazing short break staying here. The freshly cooked breakfast each day was superb, as was the homemade cake! Hotel was clean and staff all very helpful & friendly. Location excellent, 5 minute walk into Windermere, or 20 mins into Bowness-on-Windermere.

When I read the reviews I thought we should give it a go. It was fantastic from the first day. Love the cake every day. Weather was sunny all week. Breakfasts were excellent and kept us going on our walks. Beautiful, clean, friendly staff it was hard to leave. Definitely would recommend it 👍

Very clean and quiet place. The room cleanliness is immaculate. Not a speck of dust in the whole of the building. There is no noise coming from outside because there are no main roads outside. We’ve slept with an open window all night, and all we could hear were birds. We couldn’t ask for a better breakfast. Full English breakfast cooked to perfection. There were plenty of other options such as cereals, fruits, yogurt, breakfast baps, etc. The cherry on the top is a slice of cake that you’re given everyday. Stuff was lovely, helpful, and all around wonderful. They are very accommodating and nothing seems to be a bother to them. The location is very convenient, 5min from Windermere center and 25min walk to Bowness. We will definitely come back.

Firstly, the breakfast was amazing and so filling, perfect for a day of walking. Secondly, the cake: incredible. And finally the room (we had room 11), was wonderful. The bed was huge and comfortable and having a bath was a bonus. A short 5 minute walk down a lovely lane from the centre of Windermere and 25 minutes to the centre of Bowness. Its such a peaceful location. Will definitely be back.

We first stayed at The Hideaway some 15 years ago and it was great then as it is now. The room was very comfortable and the staff very friendly and accommodating. A great choice of breakfast and the daily cake is a lovely gesture and a tasty treat. I'm sure it won't be 15 years before we visit again.

Fantastic location close to the Railway station and an easy walk to the Town centre. Bowness is a short one mile stroll down the hill. Lovely welcome when we arrived for a two night stay.
The homemade cake was delicious.Top quality breakfast with lots of variety served with a smile.
Very comfortable bed and a hot shower. Perfect stay.

Hideaway is the perfect stop for time in Windermere. Round the corner from the train station and town. The breakfast and cakes every day are delicious. Richard and his team are so friendly and attentive, they couldn’t do enough for you. Would recommend and will be back.

We stayed at the hideaway just for one night to suprise our friend who was staying nearby for her 60th Birthday |The Accommodation was lovely well decorated and very clean the room was well furnished and Tea /coffee facilities were provided we were allocated room 8 which was at the top of the stairs and would have been a problem for my wife if we were staying longer because she has a bad back problem. So I would advise asking for a room on a lower level for anyone with mobility issues. Breakfast was provided and was superb Highly recommended
