Went to the Halfway House for an evening of entertainment and dinner. Have attended this type of event before, and the food has been excellent. Not this time, though. Lasagne and Chips, no! Lasagne, yes, mixed salad, yes, chips, no! I must also say the Lasagne was very bland. The staff, as always, were very attentive, helpful, and polite. The entertainment was nothing to do with the Halfway House.
It was a very disappointing main course. Starter, paté tasty, strawberry cheesecake desert, very yummy, especially with a nice touch of fresh strawberries.
Will go again and hope that we go back to the usual main course, a delicious roast dinner!

We've lived a short drive away for over 30 years . We've never visited before to eat and I don't know why really.
So , driving back from Gatwick, after a lot of traffic, only to get into more traffic on the A127. So why not stop and eat now , here at the Halfway House pub .
It was around 4pm and the pub wasn't busy . We were welcomed by a really lovely waitress who talked us through the menu and specials board. We thought the menu was good with a lot of choices for everyone at good prices .We both had the steak and mushroom pie with mash and vegetables. It really was good. We will definitely return.

After visiting here a LONG time ago I wasn't expecting too much.

I was pleasantly surprised.

Our meal was REALLY good and the girls looking after us were very friendly and efficient.

All in all a good choice of venue which gained me brownie points with the wife too.

Will definitely return again soon.

Must add also that it was, in my opinion, very reasonably priced too.

Went again today on way home from being somewhere.

Nothing wrong with my meal at all.

Good food, nice surroundings, friendly staff, reasonable cost.

Ticks all the boxes for me.

Stopped by for a lunch break. Was really empty,maybe 4-6 people all together.
Place is nice and clean,classic english pub/restaurant look,but really clean,no smoking inside.
Had fish and chips.
Would come back to this place again. Maybe next time for a drink,was impressed on the size of bars, I have seen 2 bars.

Went to a wedding in the marquee round the back. Can accommodate at least 200-300 people so not a bad size. Lovely grounds too and a fair amount of parking.

Lovely setting. A group of 7 for lunch. Service was slow but the food was incredible. It was nice to have a leisurely time from starters to dessert. Highly recommend and we will visit again very soon.

I have eaten in the dining area several times lately, and on each occasion it has been a pleasant experience. The choice is not vast but what’s on it is well cooked and presented. The prices are reasonable and the service is good.
I will be going again and would recommend you try it.
