This is the first truly dog friendly hotel i have ever stayed in. There was no segregation when eating (tables are a good distance from each other), and they can go with you where ever you go. The 6 acre grounds are fantastic to walk the dogs in and as for the food - it was out of this world.

A very friendly welcoming team at the fox and hounds. Nothing is too much trouble. Great place to bring your dog, with fabulous 6 acres of garden to walk them, towels, treats, doggy bowl and biscuit provided in the room, even a doggy menu available. Spotlessly clean. Food at breakfast and dinner was excellent. There are lots of walks close by and the train station is a few minutes walk away to Barnstaple or Exeter. We had a very relaxing stay and will be back.

What a fantastic break away with all of our dogs. Food is absolutely amazing. Staff lovely. Rooms are very comfortable. Would definitely come again and would recommend to all

This is a dog hotel - well behaved adults are also welcome ?. It’s like a home from home. The food is absolutely superb! Service efficient and friendly. The grounds are wonderful to stroll with your dog. All in all a joy. We will be back for sure ?

Wow! What a terrific find.
This place is gorgeous! For a Town person like me this was such a beautiful place. If you have a doggie never leave them at home again because this place welcomes dogs with open arms. It made me wish l still had our dog.
The staff were super friendly, helpful and made this trip feel amazing… from bar…restaurant… breakfast… relaxing areas…fireplace… the grounds around the property to take walks… The Tree house !! … l loved! loved! this place and l have done a lot of travelling.
This is a unique and wonderful spot.

Having driven past The Fox and Hounds several times it was lovely to stay there. Our room was outstanding with a huge ensuite bathroom. We were at the rear of the hotel so had a lovely view over the garden. A walk in the grounds to see the tree house and beautiful river walks is a must. The restaurant food was excellent. All the canine guests were impeccably behaved. We will definitely be back.

I can only comment on afternoon tea we enjoyed here with our 2 teenagers. It was very good indeed! Lovely sandwiches, very good lemon cake and carrot cake and excellent fudgy brownie. Best of all though very buttery melt in your mouth scones. Everything I had hoped for.

Stopped in with the family and ordered the burger, £18 for less food than a Mc Donald's meal, and certainly less quality.
I don't leave many reviews but I feel that a burger with no bacon, no salad just a patte with brown sauce and less than a handful of "Iceland" French fries was embarrassing and I feel ripped off.
I also had a 0% Guinness which was priced at over £5!
Went home and cooked a proper meal, won't be coming back.
