For a town high street it is a complete letdown mostly looking dated and run down, has very little to offer in the way of major chain stores it has mostly pound shops. The whole place looks dirty and in need of a good clean. Moving the market from outdoor to the new indoor site has driven most of the traders away because of lack of stalls and lack of interest from the locals, saying that the few traders that remained have flourished,

Maybe update the picture?

Market has some good stores and it’s good to see them busy.

Come for the market, not the empty shops.

Nice little shopping centre there's plenty of food outlets and cafes (Greggs, Costa, Subway) and , Opticians (Vision Express, Specsavers) , then phone shops (O2, Theee) , jewelers and bargain shops plus a couple of clothes shops. Centre staff/security always friendly and helpful

Plenty of small, medium and one large Dept Store (Oldriges).

The old BHS is to become the new market sometime next year.

Accessibility - good, includes electric doors and level wide paths.

Car Park - multi story and other car parks nearby. 1st 2 hours free, but get a ticket (one freebie only per day - you have to enter your car registration # so it is registered across the network). Free Saturday and Sundays, no ticket needed. Plenty of disabled parking places across the network.

Restaurant, cafes and Vue Cinema.

Library, Film Theatre, Market, Council Offices and 20/21 (Exhibition/Art/Cafe) nearby

Toilets - in Oldriges Dept store on the 3rd floor.

It's OK, reasonably clean with usual shops for a 'shopping precinct'.

1st time visiting this area since the market was moved. But it is much brighter than the older place. It's cleaner and easier to move around. Full of bargains, and a great place to wander around as part of your afternoon or morning meander.
