Hands down, it’s a beautiful pub. It’s been renovated wonderfully. Perfect place for get togethers. There’s a car park at the back with outside seating at the front and rear.
Menu has solid varied selection of choices. Food was cooked beautifully. Quality ingredients. A little under seasoned for my tastes. Batter on onion rings and cod, light and crisp.
Customer service is poor. The restaurant was half empty. We had a reservation for 12:45 and arrived at 12:30. We asked if we could be sat earlier. There was a lot of faffing about and waiting around. We were sat at the table closest to the open kitchen. The cooking smells were very strong. I told the server I’m pregnant and asked if we could be sat elsewhere - perhaps a little further back and was told “no - they were fully booked until the time”. The time? What time? My issue was he didn’t even try. And I know this because I was watching him the whole time. There were A LOT of empty tables. When I asked to sit outside, I was told I didn’t need a reservation and to order at the bar. He could’ve told me this at the beginning, and saved me some time. If you sit outside, you order and pay. There are no table numbers. You give your name for the order. And you’re pretty much ignored once you get your food.

Second time I have been here with different friends and the food is consistently good. One waitress whose name I do not know, was wonderful. She was tall, slim with fair hair. She was most apologetic when chosen ice cream was not available. All smiles and thoroughly pleasant.

We had a fantastic meal here tonight. The atmosphere is really nice and relaxed, staff are attentive and super helpful! The food was amazing the gluten and dairy free menu is out standing, probably they best I have seen for options! I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone!

Really wanted to like this place but the food just isn't at the quality you'd expect for the price. Chips were pale and undercooked yet the fish was dry and overcooked, all round fairly bland flavours from the other dishes on our table. Service was fine and friendly and it looks nice inside, but not really a step up from cheap chain pub grub.

They opened the day before, so we went to check it out. Nice atmosphere friendly staff. Great service. The website was not up and running, so I'm not sure about the food possibilities.However, the restaurant looked great.I have high hopes for dinner next time.

I planned my sisters baby shower here, and it was second to none!!
It was so easy to book and liaise with the staff (manager Hannah) who were so accommodating from start to finish.
We went in to see the space and immediately fell in love. The space is gorgeous and right up our street with the greens and cosy feel!
Hannah (who is incredible, and as my sister said, is a credit to the Flag!) sat down with us and explained all of our options in depth. The chef even came out and discussed what our menu could look like and did us some bespoke dishes to suit our needs!
Come to the day, we had 25 people, some with dietary requirements and it was absolutely no trouble for them! Ellea (who is also a credit to the flag!) was so attentive and kept me updated on plans throughout, whilst providing exceptional service to everyone!! We also had some gorgeous cocktails which were on theme with the colour of the baby shower! Everyone loved the food and the range of selection, as well as the gorgeous venue!
Can’t thank the staff (Hannah and Ellea) enough for making this such a special event for us! Cannot recommend this hidden gem enough!!

Slightly overpriced mediocrity.

Price gouging on a Bank Holiday Monday, Roast dinners charged at a higher price than every other Monday, when challenged was directed to some small print on the website at the bottom of a webpage saying we reserve the right to price gouge you at busy times, you should make that big print at the top of the webpage.

Roast dinner was served with cold veg on the plate and they ran out of Yorkshire Puddings. Draught Coca Cola so watered down I sent it back.

As usual an average pub charging al a carte restaurant prices.

Polite staff delivering totally average service.

Restaurant had several empty tables.

Visited Sunday 5th May at 3pm, table of 3 booked in the name of M***on.
