Really enjoyed our dinner at ‘The Crown Inn’ - although some items were not available on the menu (and the menu was different in-person than it was online…) we thoroughly enjoyed the ‘Fish & Chips’ and ‘Pork Belly’ dishes. Service was sweet and the food was delivered quickly - The Crown Inn really is a lovely place for a weekday treat, especially in the cold, gloomy weather! We will definitely be returning soon.

We stayed due to visiting family and to attend Bunk Fest in Wallingford town and the location was ideal as the bus stop was only a 10 min walk from the pub. There was a bit of an issue with our hotel room however the managment quickly resolved this mix up professionally and promptly, the rooms were well equipped and spacious, staff were very friendly and welcoming. The pub had a real comfortable and homely vibe to it and the food on the general menu looked great. The only one thing I had an issue with is that it wasn’t made apparent that breakfast is included with your stay so we didn’t actually realise this until our last night and after having visited the Waterfront Cafe that was not great so it was a shame we missed out on what was such a good breakfast for our full stay. The sausages and bacon were such good quality! |We have booked again for next year so I would highly recommended a visit!

The very friendly landlord has done a super job of making this a great value and very welcoming pub. From the friendly and well trained staff, to the commitment to excellence in the kitchen, and the well kept Hook Nortons beer we had a very enjoyable lunch. Will I be going back? You bet!!!

Great light lunch for 3 of us. Small plates and chips to share. Pea and ham hock terrine especially delicious.|Exceptional service by cheerful staff, including Abbie.|Sadly the fish hadn’t arrived but they made us aware of this before seating us.|Lovely sheltered courtyard for outside dining.

The best food in Benson, and very reasonably priced. Good selection of wines and beers, and the interior is very well decorated.|I have gone a few times and one time there was clearly a different chef as the food was definitely not up to usual standard, but hopefully that was a one off.|The only odd thing is there never seems to be anyone in here! I've been 5-6 times and there is only ever 3-4 other people max in the entire place. It doesn't matter per se but I wonder why because the food is very good.

Booked a table, told to sit where we liked. Sat for 10 mins had to ask for a menu. Very limited menu. Basic heated up food. £100 for 3 mains and 4 drinks. Not value for money! Won’t be going back to eat. I don’t mind paying money for good food but this wasn’t great at all. Sorry wish I could give a good review for my loc pub but I can’t.

Stopped for an afternoon drink Staff were very friendly great atmosphere, we booked to come back for an Evening meal. Again nothing was too much trouble for the staff made us feel at home.|Food was fantastic would recommend to anyone worth visiting

Today is Bobby's birthday, so we decided to book a table for breakfast at the crown in Benson. katie served us, she was so lovely, polite , friendly and helpful. In our honest opinion , the breakfast was seriously the best cooked breakfast we have ever had! It was amazing! Lovely and hot, certainly not greasy, extremely tasty, full of flavour, superb quality produce. Best sausage ever! The mushroom was wow! Poached egg cooked to perfection, All the produce, was extremely high quality! Coffee was lovely also! What a wonderful start to Bobby's birthday. Thank you so very much. |Jane a d Bobby Evans xx
