My wife and I travelled across and up country and stayed in 5 hotels and the Crown House Hotel was the second and by far the best. In fact pretty much spoiled it for the other hotels. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. My wife and I were the only ones in the building overnight and they made sure that we had all we needed and even trusted us to help ourselves if we needed anything. The room had great character, was clean and comfortable with a huge shower and massive bath. Will definitely be back.

Booked here as my dog had to have surgery nearby. Absolutely amazed by the friendly service and kindness. Lovely little room with my own bathroom. (There are both dog friendly and non dog rooms.) I was fairly upset when I arrived due to worrying about my dog. The lady behind reception was so thoughtful and kind. Even when I was making the booking they went the extra mile. Highly recommend!

We had our Mums wake at the hotel. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The selection of food was very good. Everyone was made very welcome. Idea venue and very close to the crematorium. Parking not an issue staff made sure cars where parked in the correct places.

Stayed here whilst walking part of the Icknield Way. At the time only no evening meals, but bed and breakfast. |However very friendly people who gave some good local recommendations. Rooms were large very clean and well maintained in a pleasant area. |Usual tea, coffee, biscuits, towels and soaps etc all in room, nice warm building. Would recommend. Breakfast combination of help yourself healthy stuff and traditional substantial artery liner breakfast ( full English ) |There a couple of pubs in town.

Staying at the Crown House was the best hotel experience we have ever had! We were traveling with no specific plans and had intended to stay just one night, but we ended up staying an entire week! It was such a lovely place with a great location, and all the staff were super friendly and helpful. Though they were not doing evening meals at the time of our visit, they recommended two very good pubs within walking distance; we tried both of them and were satisfied with the quality of the food and the staff. For us, breakfast was in the conservatory or the dining room and consisted of a "Full English" or an excellent selection buffet style. If you are looking for somewhere to relax and feel at home while you are traveling, this is definitely the place! 5/5 stars from us. I'm sure we will visit again someday and undoubtedly stay with them again. Just an absolutely fantastic experience!

We had my father's wake at The Crown House and we couldn't fault them. The staff were wonderful through every stage of organising the event and on the day itself - they were calm, kind, thoughtful and incredibly well organised. The venue was warm and cosy and just the right size for our group of 30 people. The buffet was very fresh and well displayed - the home made cakes were very good indeed! They looked after my mum very well and were very patient, we never felt in the way or hurried. They diligently packed up the leftover food for us to take away and helped us carry things out to the car. Everywhere was clean and comfortable. We were very happy with our experience.

Great pit stop on way from Surrey to Norfolk. Staff very friendly and helpful. It was a great setup for our little spaniel, who was also made very welcome. Breakfast was a treat. Very likely we will call in again on our next adventure to the North Norfolk Coast.

Booked 2 x rooms via Booking.com and contacted the hotel direct to request a ground floor room for my Mum. |They were very accomadating and when we arrived the reception staff went out of thier way to make sure we had the right rooms. Accommodation was spacious, we stayed across from the main pub and great for a short stay. There were loads of places to eat a short distance away in the car.|Breakfast in the morning was very good and again the staff were very attentive.|The only fault was that the coffee was not great, but that could be a matter of taste. |Overall a very good stay.
