Off the charts good pork belly roast. Simply delicious. Baileys bread and butter dessert also great. Lovely village green pub with cosy bars, good beers and community vibes. Lovely.

We fancied a traditional pub lunch on a very cold dreary January Sunday. Well we found it. Really nice interior , thank goodness, no generic grey in sight. Really friendly efficient staff and a great atmosphere. I had the porchetta and my husband has the roast ribeye. It was by far the best roast we've had in a very long time . The chef came out and we managed to have a chat. Couldn't recommend this pub more. We will definitely be back very soon.

We came for lunch before a visit to the local graveyard on an anniversary. Tables were occupied in the main area. Unaware of the other designated area for dining, we sat in an adjacent room and requested menus, having to ask twice for these and despite that never receiving them. Eventually, the manager walked past us and hurriedly told us we couldn’t dine in this room. Now, none of this so far is grating, it is the accumulation of bad service and bad attitude that is grating. So, we move to the area where we can eat. Menus finally arrive. The plates of food were underwhelming - from presentation to the levels of grease. For the price I expect a little more quality. We asked twice for cutlery before it arrived.
The amounts of chips/fries on the plates were meagre for a main meal. Our 13 year old wolfed the burger and fries. We asked the waiter if she could have some more fries. The waiter saw no problem with this initially. However, the manager vetoed it and we were told it would be £4 for a portion of fries. Speaking to the manager about this was unsurprisingly unpleasant.
The floor staff were friendly, and doing their best. That they were not on top of the service was the fault of the pub being understaffed. The food was what I’d expect from a roadside pop up. And the management and ethos of the place, off-key.

I celebrated my 50th at the C&R a few weeks ago with a party of 25. Robyn and Oliver kindly reserved the dining area for us and made it look amazing. We enjoyed pre-dinner drinks at the lovely bar and then we all sat down for a fantastic meal. It was the perfect venue for a very memorable evening. Thank you Robyn and team ?!!

The best roast pork I've ever had in my life.. Everything from the food, to the service and the atmosphere was just perfect. Thank you for accommodating us walk-ins. We'll deffo book next time! ?
