Brilliant local craft & real ale watering hole! There's always great wines, spirits & beers available. The selection of fabulous bar snacks has to be seen to be believed!

Love this little Golden find of venue tucked into the wonderful Market Street promenade of Hoylake. Robin behind the bar is a gem ! and so too are the good folk drinking at the bar. Had such an enjoyable 'last orders' drink here and will definitely be returning for a longer appreciation next time. See you soon !

We visited (a couple of times) last year while we were visiting friends in Hoylake. A super cozy little pub with craft beers and quite a large selection. The atmosphere was great, friendly, and dog-friendly. As a souvenir, I have a tote bag and a t-shirt with the pub's logo.

Converted from a couple of shops on the High Street this must have one of the best choices of beers around. Most of the cans are kept fresh in the chillers which is a plus. The cask ale was top drawer so was the service.

This is the Valhalla for real ale drinkers. More quality beer available, than I've seen in the actual breweries. The staff are lovely and the setting is perfect.
The pub is also dog friendly and the staff are clear dog lovers and make a fuss of your dog, which is lovely.

The Black Toad has a large range of real ales and a few ciders at reasonable prices. It's a small place but in the summer you can sit outside at the back and it's a very good suntrap. A nice place to spend a sunny afternoon.

Lived in the area for years but never been in here before. Friendly staff, great beer and good atmosphere. Just what you want from a local pub. We will be back.
