We came to The Base Vegan Retreat & Animal Sanctuary to experience the afternoon tea and we absolutely loved our visit! The space is absolutely beautiful, seeing all the gorgeous animals roaming happily was incredible and being able to pet them and feed them made us so happy. We had our afternoon tea in the cabin which was a lovely space overlooking the pond and animals. The scones, cakes and other afternoon tea accompaniments were delicious. It was amazing to spend time with the animals and chat with Fiaz and Jacqui about the history of the retreat and why it's a huge passion of theirs. We will definitely return to try out the spa and hopefully stay in the cabin. I would highly recommend The Base if you want to experience a truly unique experience and reconnect with animals and nature.

Such a beautiful haven! This place is astoundingly pretty and peaceful, if you’re looking for a relaxing and refreshing break this is it!

The people are very welcoming without hovering. Catered for us as well as gave us food to feed the animals.

The animals were very well cared for and obviously love peoples attention. They have a spacious, natural and open place to roam.

The spa area is very clean and well looked after. Clear instructions on how everything works. Beautiful layout and has everything you need including towels ans robes. Very pretty views.

This place is so relaxing and refreshing, well worth the price, will be going back 10/10 ❤️

This place really is a secret sanctuary of Love, We experienced a 2 hour luxury spa session with some bonus time with the lovely mix of animals, it was so heartwarming to see them all enjoying being together, playing & relaxing.

The space is designed beautifully, a nature haven for the animals and us !

We was greeted by the most wonderful owners and shown where to access the spa & see the animals, they was only a message away if we needed anything…

Beautiful views, luxurious facilities and tasty delicious delights!

Will definitely be going back again ~ would highly recommend checking it out ❤️

So amazing to jacuzzi and spa luxury in such a natural setting, surrounded by rescued animals. And all to ourselves! Amazing views, rooms and most amazing are the sweet and funny animals! Full of charm and character. 10/10 spa break for my birthday. Owners made sure we were comfortable and were very flexible and accommodating. Lovely place and great project to support

I went to The Base with my other half and we both had the best time! The cabin is amazingly done and the spa facilities are top notch. Both the cooked breakfast and the afternoon tea were unbelievably tasty, and the best bit of it all was making friends with all the lovely animals!!! We felt so at home, and the owners are just lovely (and so inspiring). Hands down one of our favourite UK getaways we've ever had!

We had a really special day visit at the spa with afternoon tea. What a glorious hot tub and sauna! Such a peaceful setting and what a joy seeing and interacting with the wonderful rescued animals. What a lovely place to stay! Very close to Bristol City Centre without feeling like you are! The lodge has everything you could need, they've thought of everything! The stars of the show are absolutely the animals. We brought lots of veggies and were quickly surrounded by all the lovely animals! You don't get this anywhere else 💙 we also got to meet the resident cat and one of rescue dogs, who sat with us sunbathing!

Fiaz and Jacqui are wonderful people, who have such good hearts, so happy to have stayed with them!

Booked a spa session. Lovely friendly hosts, nothing too much trouble. Gave us food so that we could feed the variety of animals. So peaceful and calm and an absolutely lovely morning. Will definitely be going again.
