Fabulous barn conversion in an ideal location for many walks and good pub food just down the road. Friendly and very helpful host, Chris made us feel very welcome, recommending pubs, discussing walking routes and checking we had everything we needed. The cottage was very well-equipped, the beds were comfy and spacious as were the sofas. The views from the cottage were inspiring...we hope to return very soon!

My husband and I stayed at the Acorn Barn at Mead Farm, it was a perfect three night break for the two us. We were greeted by Chris on our arrival and showed the accommodation. It was well equipped and the attention to detail was superb. The decor was modern, the underfloor heating made it cozy and welcoming and the homemade scones and freshly laid eggs were a nice little touch. The toiletries also added that special touch to the bedroom and bathroom, the bed was comfy and towels lovely and soft. There was an outside barn for bikes and wet walking gear if needed and a lovely outside area for sunny days. The walk from the nearby footpath to Loose Hill and across to Mam-Tor and down to Castleton is not for the infirm but we would highly recommend it and it was a great way to blow away the cobwebs and the views are spectacular. We would highly recommend this accommodation and would certainly revisit in the future. Thank you

Been to Derbyshire many times over the years but this is one of the best places to base ourselves. Walking from the door you will get you to Loose Hill and beyond. And a bluebell woodland along the river also not far .|The owners are fantastic for local information and a warm welcome. |The Acorn is home from home and the views are spectacular will definitely recommend and return .|Hot scones on arrival were gorgeous |You do hear a little noise from the cottage next door on the odd occasion but this didn't spoil our break . |Lovely comfortable bed and heaps of storage space. |Parking is safe and secure as is bike storage for those that bring them . |The local pubs are all great and the local butcher is walking distance away .....not open on Monday's||

My husband and I have just returned from our second midweek break at the Acorn. The accommodation is very comfortable, the welcome pack including fresh scones and milk is a nice touch. Chris the host is very helpful. We especially like this barn because there are a whole host of walks you can do from the doorstep....no need for the car at all. We can also recommend the Cheshire Cheese Inn for food in an evening but best to book! We will certainly stay here again.

I’ve stayed at The Barn at Mead Farm on a number of occasions but a few years back. It’s changed hands and is well managed and maintained by the on site owners. Having stayed in many other holiday rentals in Hope Valley I can say this is my favourite. Very spacious and comfortable, lovely setting with views over to Win Hill. Footpath to Hope Village from behind the property & great walking to Mam Tor, Castleton & Edale and beyond from the door. Quite private too. Secure storage for bikes & laundry facilities if needed. |We will certainly return again.

We enjoyed a very happy week at the larger of 2 cottages called The Oaks. It is spotless and very well appointed with 3 bedrooms en suite. Similar to high-end National Trust properties, but more welcoming and with greater attention to detail. Carefully considered recommendations for local walks, restaurants etc were spot on. The local area is truly spectacular. The Oaks proved an ideal place for a restful break and breathtaking walks. It was also good value.

We had a great family holiday in The Oaks. From the warm welcome to the high speck accommodation and great location, everything was just right. The location is perfect for the many local attractions for days out but is also a very tranquil spot where you can relax on the patio. Chris & Tanya have created a real home from home and we would certainly recommend The Oaks for a great family holiday.

Great cottage comes with everything that you need a home away from home. You need to buy your groceries but Chris the owner makes you really feel welcome. There is welcome pack which contains everything you need to get going. |There is a nice walking area near by and all things like a pub , spar, and lots of activities. ||The cottage we stayed we stayed was a 3 bedroom cottage which were all ensuite. Living room and an open kitchen with fridge freezer dish washer |Overall our stay was great we will be doing it again
