When we attend Sussex Chamber events, we are always made very welcome. The events are well-managed, the speakers of excellent quality and it's nice to experience a range of venues. Dietary considerations are always made when food is involved and the Chamber team are super friendly and professional. You don't have to join to attend, we are not members, but it's nice to dip in and out of the events that we can make & that are of interest.

I recently wen't on an online event as I don't do many of these, but the chamber ones are smaller groups and you can talk for a longer period of time like 5 minutes and not a 60 second pitch, which is much nicer.

A few days ago I was on the 'Grow Your Connections' event and was able to speak to three different people who liked what we did, so it was great.

I'm proud to be a member of the Sussex chamber of commerce. It's whole membership structure and process is very straight forward to join.

It does not matter what size company you're, the chambers will have a training course, seminar, workshop or event schedule to suit your needs.

I have rated one star due to the way that I was treated by their team. The story started with them offering me exposure in their magazine which was part of our membership package. At their request, I wrote an article and submitted it to them by the deadline at the beginning of January 2019. A few days later, I received a telephone call to inform me that the article had been received and would be going into the next issue of the magazine as long as I paid my membership bill. This caught me off guard as I was not aware that I was overdue on out membership subs. I said I had not seen an invoice that was sent in the post, so I requested that they emailed me a copy of the invoice. When I received the invoice, I said that I had to pay by the end of January and it was now only mid January. So their own terms and conditions, I actually was not overdue on payment. The gentleman that I was sealing with assumed the tone of a debt collector when in fact no debt payment was due. He then said if I did not pay immediately, the article , that they requested, would not be published. Because I am not the kind of person who responds to bully boy threats, I informed the Chamber that I would not be renewing my membership. Obviously, the issue got escalated as I had follow up asking what went wrong. The gentleman concerned tried to back pedal but unfortunately for him, there were two of us listening to his demands and concur that he was now misremembering the conversation. I accepted the apology from the Sussex Chamber and they told me that the article would run anyway. Even, when you load their iphone app, a message pops up saying, Business has not paid its bill.
