This is my local store too - and it's brilliant! The range of herbs, fruit and vegetables just goes on expanding, the meat counter is excellent, the staff are wonderful and residents in the surrounding villages simply couldn't do without it - we are the best served locals in the whole area (including Bakewell) + they do great coffee at Cafe 19.
Aesthetically it's been designed to blend into the environment without flashing garish company logos, plus it's open earlier and later than anywhere else around for miles... it may not be the one for your big main shop on prices, but it's still a diamond in the Peak

Shout out to the really friendly and helpful butcher who had an amazing selection of meats and especially the variety of delicious meals he'd put together for home cooking.

We also loved the amazing selection of local, fresh made chocolate cakes and the freshly squeezable orange juice, as well as all the other lovely goodies for sale.

A really lovely store with a great selection on offer. Thank you!

As you may have gathered from previous reviews, this shop isn’t cheap but it sells nice stuff so the decision is yours…… if you want good quality products then you have to pay for it. I would have thought that was obvious but then maybe not to some folk. I love the fact that this is my local shop. If I did my main shop here it may well bankrupt me but then that’s not what corner shops are for. I get little bits and pieces here and it has long opening hours so is super convenient when you just need to nip out and get something or want a bit of a treat. Stocks and supports lots of local produce too which I think is an excellent thing. All the moaners should stop. If you don’t want to pay the price for decent goods then don’t shop here - It’s pretty simple.

I don't generally leave reviews but this is my local shop and I can't stand to see people moan about it. This place sells good sandwiches, the burgers are amazing and the butchers section has a bizarrely huge selection - I once counted 12 different types of sausages and 9 different types of bacon. Always a well stocked shelf of local beers (which actually aren't badly priced at all for what they are). People moaning about the price of stuff are totally missing the point.

Anyone giving this place a bad review doesn’t know what they’re talking about. This place is the bomb! Yea it’s expensive so don’t do your whole shop there but the meat and food is all great quality, and the butcher is lovely!
They even have a fresh orange juice machine where you can pump your fresh juice! An Iconc landmark of the Peaks 😂

Good layout inside it's more catered for tourists tho and very very expensive there is a co op 2 mins away in baslow everything is about half the price so I'd suggest going there the price index online suggests its 3th most expensive spar in the uk.

Imagine a normal spar, but multiply the price by 1.7. Cans of energy drink, £1 everywhere else, £1.70 here. Warburton's bread, normally £1, is £1.51. McVities ginger cake, normally £1, is £1.93.
The store is clean (but isn't this a minimum standard?)
Premium prices here - probably cheaper to get a taxi to Sheffield and do your food shopping in a spar there.
