I had long desired a collection of copper pots and pans.  I wanted them for cooking, not just for decoration.  I had searched for and amassed a sizable collection; however, each piece was in need of re-tinning and polishing. After researching the options, I opted for using Sherwood tinning.  I could not be happier that I did.  Nick is a master of his trade.  This is not an exaggeration.  He truly is.  He made pots that were hundreds of years old, scratched, dulled, dented and rusty, shine like they were new.  He added “helper” handles to two very large and heavy pans.  Without these, the pans were too heavy to move when full and were in danger of damage to the existing handles.  The handles look fantastic and don’t stand out as being later additions.  His advice was always spot on.  I returned several times with multiple pots for Nick to repair.  I felt like a child at Christmas each time I returned to retrieve my pots. I just could not get over the change in how the pots looked.  Unfortunately, I don’t have any “before” pictures to add to the review, but I will include several “after”.  If you know anyone who has stored an old copper pot in their barn, shed, or garage, take a look at those.  It no doubt resembles the pots I handed over to Nick.  While I enjoyed the surprise of how beautiful my pots looked, I can not finish this review without including a note about Nick personally.  He is such a great conversationalist.  He has a wonderful personality and I enjoyed every chance I had to chat with him.  I felt he was a friend after the first meeting.  Covid limited the chances I had to see him before I relocated to the US, and I regret that terribly.  If you have copper pots that need attention and repair, you shouldn’t take them anywhere other than Sherwood tinning.  Just make sure to plan in enough time for a proper visit with Nick. 😊

The service in processing my request, a quote for all the pots and pans and the very fast and professional service that Nick and his grandson have provided is absolutely stunning.

Beyond the incredible work in re-tinning my pots my conversation with Nick and his professionalism at all times made it such an easy process and he kept me informed in a timely manner including when they will be redelivered back to me. This company is an absolute treasure and so worth working with. I have recommended them to a few people already and I hope they continue with their craftmenship for a long time.

Nick from Sherwood Tinning has looked after my pans for many years now. I have a collection of 28 pans, most of them have been to Nick for refurbishment and personal initials stamped on. Four have just been returned to me, the only thing is that they look to good to be used. When I sent them a couple of weeks ago they looked a sorry sight but look at them now.

Highly recommend Sherwood Tinning for refurbishing copper pots. Nick worked on two French vintage pots of mine from eBay and they came back looking brand new. Beautiful work coupled with great customer service. I'll definitely be a repeat customer when it comes time to re-tin the pots.

I had 12 old and worn copper pans which went to Sherwood tinning. Within a week they had all been re-tinned, cleaned and polished ready for use. This was done to a very high standard and each pan was re-tinned by hand, which is the best way to ensure a full and even coating of tin.

This was a quality service and worth every penny to have my copper pans re-tinned by a proper craftsman who really cares about the details. All with Royal approval no less!
