As a local in the area who likes to support local businesses, I am ashamed to say that I will never be visiting Samways again due to the attitude of the owner. For now on I will be using Coop opposite or other post offices in the surrounding villages.
And this is due to the attitude of the owner of the shop - multiple times I have been there he is sarcastic masquerading as humour which is obviously isn't.
And today is the final straw. He was rude and condescending when dealing with me putting money into the post office. I found I was missing bit of money and so to wait a sec whilst I try to find it. He just reached through the counter and took the money I had and started counting it. Nobody queuing behind me.
Anyhow, as I turned to leave after putting money in, he said 'Kar.' Wondering what he meant, I turned to ask and he replied 'Kar' again.
Realising I was looking at him in a perplexed manner, he said 'it means ta.'
Have had enough of this rude man who thinks that just because he runs a small business, he can be rude to others.
Never again will I visit Samways.

I have visited Samways multiple times, mainly to use their post office services. Whilst the range of goods they have is good, I have repeatedly been surprised by the level of rudeness and unfriendliness of one staff member in particular. Sadly, despite wanting to support independent businesses I shall be taking my custom elsewhere going forwards.

Fancied a beer after work. I looked at the length of the social distancing queue outside of the local CoOp and Googled "off licences near me". Was pleasantly surprised to discover that Samways sell alcohol ( the store sign makes no mention of it).

I was in and out in 2 minutes. Limited but reasonable lager selection. Friendly staff.
