My wife and I visited Rooms fashion store and also rooms furniture store today around 11.30 am .

We were truly disappointed with both stores the staff couldn’t even smile or say hello to us. We walked all around the ground floor and not one person acknowledged us with a simple hello or a smile .

Rooms is not a busy store and for a local business you would think they would be more welcoming to the public. There were two young ladies behind the counter at mode pelle just chatting amongst themselves as we walked through their department they looked at us but kept chatting .

As we walked around the Barbour section there were two more members of staff who were so engaged in their own conversations they totally disregarded us and just looked at us.

Sadly, they all looked very unhappy in their work and totally unprofessional standing around chatting .No atmosphere in either store and if the staff see you they walk away don’t smile or even welcome you.

It truly is a sad state of affairs when a family business like this has been in our high street for many decades and they have staff with a cavalier and don’t care attitude .

Maybe the management needs to address this soulless uninviting store .

This was a very disappointing visit. The restaurant chairs were very heavily stained making me not want to sit on one. The food is overpriced and was not of great quality, panini was hard and the cheese and beans jacket potato had a very small sprinkling of cheese. The accessible toilet had a very loose toilet seat and part of the paper towel holder came off and hit me on the head. On a positive note, after reporting the toilet seat it was repaired in very quick time. The staff are also very friendly. Overall it was a very negative visit and we will not be returning.

Visited Roomes today, was served by a lovely assistant called Gina, she was very helpful , and had alot of patience trying to get a size to fit me. I am very happy with my experience of shopping at Roomes in Upminster and I will definitely shop again there in the near future.

First time visiting overall impression of a well maintained store,nice and clean

Staff very helpful and friendly,used the cafe can not fault,and coming from the catering industry I could see how clean and
on top of things,food was delicious and hot.

The toilets were spotless you can see people take pride in there jobs .

First time ever in the store,wow the staff were immediately so welcoming and polite,beautiful clothes and gifts ! Lifts/toilets were clean,can't wait to vist again! Didn't use restaurant but food smelt delicious so will be back for that! .

Great department store, with a small shop feel. The staff are very helpful, polite and they make an effort for the customer. Roomes has a great selection of perfumes, aftershaves and make up counters. They also have small departments carrying the latest in many named brands. The household department is quite extensive with higher quality items. The cafe is also pleasant with a variety of foods and hot and cold drinks. Due to limited space they don't always have extensive sizes however they are more than willing to order the correct size if they are able.
