Liz and Chris were perfect hosts, the rooms and very spacious and lovely and comfortable.
Great selection for breakfast, personally I would recommend the pancakes freshly cooked.
The location is perfect in between Windermere and Bowness , off the main road lovely and peaceful.
I can’t recommend here and the people highly enough.

A really lovely place to stay. Liz and Chris are fantastic hosts, made us feel extremely welcome and looked after, and had excellent suggestions for hikes and things to do and eat in the local area. Breakfasts were excellent, highly recommend the porridge. The room was warm, cosy, and had the peaceful sound of a little brook outside. We will definitely stay again!

Wonderful 2 night stay at this delightful B&B. Lovely, clean and contemporary rooms. Great location. On street parking. Fab, friendly hosts and delicious, fresh breakfasts. Would definitely stay again and fully recommend to others. Hope to visit again.

The location is great, convenient for walking into Windermere and easy to get to Bowness. Always got parking on the street and there was secure storage for my bicycle. Breakfasts were exceptional, I recommend the avocado on toast with chorizo and the porridge. Our room was comfortable and well laid out , and my parents stayed in the room across from us which was a lovely and spacious room with a nice view of the surroundings. Liz & Chris are great hosts and quite knowledgeable about the area. We will definitely stay here on our next visit to the Lake District

We stayed seven nights at the Rocklea guest house ( July 6-13th 2024 ) in the Castlerigg room and enjoyed our stay. The location on Lake Road is ideal being positioned between Windermere and Bowness making both readily accessible. Liz and Chris worked very hard to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible and they succeeded. Our room was spacious and quiet and just the right temperature. The shower was excellent with water at just the right pressure and temperature. Everything at breakfast was perfect. We have stayed three times before at this guest house when Ian and Lynne were in charge and is as good now as it was then. We look forward to our next stay.

We booked for a weekend away here and it did not disappoint! Room was beautiful, clean and spacious. The bed was super comfy. Liz and Chris are the nicest people and so helpful/attentive! The breakfasts on the two days were really tasty! The location is a 10 minutes walk from Bowness-On-Windermere centre so nice and quiet too. Rooms are freshened up throughout the day too. Brilliant stay and will be back again!!! Thank you Liz and Chris for having us!

Fantastic home from home thanks to Chris and Liz. We were so well looked after, wish we'd booked for longer. Great location for car, buses, trains and boats on the doorstep. Set back from the main road so no noise but close enough to explore the local area on foot. Fantastic room with ensuite, lovely little extra touches, fresh water and milk in the fridge for our arrival and personalised breakfast which we ordered the day before so no fuss. Sat in the sunshine with a cuppa and the Brook at our feet, relaxing after a long day exploring. Will definitely be back thanks Chris & Liz

The property was fantastic. Liz and Chris were the perfect hosts whom took time to give excellent recommendations and have friendly conversations showing genuine interest into our lives. The variety of freshly cooked breakfasts each morning was a perfect way to start the day. Rooms were immaculate and spacious with everything you need to enjoy your stay. We cannot recommend this guest house any more 10/10!!! Will definitely be returning.
