Growing up in Bridport I could always rely on RKL to have what I need, so when I moved to Devon I was happy to find another branch in Honiton. Sadly I find myself using them less and less, because I feel under constant pressure to prove I'm not shoplifting. EVERY time I go in to buy items for specific projects I have to spend a few minutes checking I'm choosing the right fixings and fittings for the job, which inevitably means a staff member will linger over my shoulder pretending to stock take or what have you. It makes me feel pressured and unwelcome so I leave with either the wrong things or I've forgotten something.
I want to support small high street business but these days I tend to use homebase which is just up the road, or Amazon. I understand that you have to protect yourselves from theives, but treating all customers as suspects is not the way to do it.

If you live in Axminster then this is probably you only option for much of what they sell and to be fair they do keep a lot useful stuff. The trouble is much of what they keep is pound shop quality but not pound shop prices and in general all of their prices are way too high.
