After 'Googling the nearest butcher to me that's open on a Saturday at 2pm' I discovered this place! (Well I have been here in the past, but only when passing as I live in New Waltham and don't often travel that way... but will make a point of revisiting here more often.)

I was after some lamb to make some homemade kebabs. The service from all of the staff was superb. A discussion between a couple of butchers lead to me having some perfect meat for my purpose. The youngest butcher asked if I wanted them lean, what size pieces and how many. Superb butchery skills. This is why a local butcher is better than any supermarket. I also bought 4 of their homemade sausages.

Pricewise... really good value.
Quality... superb.
Staff... efficient and super friendly.
Surroundings... clean and hygienic.

The lamb turned into the most juicy, tender kebabs ever! Myself and my wife absolutely loved them.

The sausages... look quality... but saving them for a rainy day... but I am sure they will be just as good.

Summing up. My last minute decision to go out and find some lamb at a real butcher's paid off!

Quite possibly the best Butchers I've shopped at, and that's saying something. Has a great selection, and he even provides steaks with the fat still intact - which is amazing for true good health - though he will trim it if you're one of the brainwashed. Fantastic quality and extremely tasty. I can't recommend enough.

Haven't been in a while as they appear to have succumbed to the anti-animal fat whiners. The last couple of beef steaks were lacking in the appetite-satiating nutritious fat. If you read this, and you have been able to reinstate the premium cuts with a decent fat cap intact. Then, please let me know, and I shall return.

Bought a large pork pie,pastry was nice,the meat wasnt,no taste very bland.
Chicken and mushroom pie,ive never tasted something as this its absolutley horrible theres no seasoning what so ever,its like something out of a tin definatley not homemade,i tried a small slice,so did my wife,and ee both said the same,and ots in tje bin now,not a regular but i wouldnt use the shop again,and could not recommend give what we were served.,nearly a tenner in the bin

Bought a couple of Pork Pies & Pasties for the drive home after working at the Spar next door. Best I've tasted for a long time, absolutely gutted that I live over 200mls away!!

Pam and I absolutely love this wonderful butcher. Apart from an amazing range of fresh and cooked meats, home made pies and sausage rolls, they also do a large range of their home made ready meals, meaning you can microwave a wonderful cooked dinner, in about 4 minutes.

I tried Wardle butchers last week, very disappointed. We bought two lamb pasties, steak pie, chicken pie, two Scotch eggs, pork pie, vac Pak black pudding, two sausages, two rashers of bacon, out of all this the only thing we enjoyed was the short beef ribs, I don't think the owner samples his products, all very bland to our taste. This was a trial purchase and I'm sorry, but I could not recommend this butcher. I get no pleasure writing this negative review, but it is what it is in my opinion. So it's back to Tesco for me.
