Fantastic afternoon tea at Poppylands today.
Staff were very attentive, polite and welcoming.
Great atmosphere, the attention to detail with the decoration and staff attire was superb.

We had a set afternoon tea for 5 people, we had a choice of sandwiches and jams so that everyone had stuff they liked. There was so much food we couldn't eat it all, but they gave us boxes to take home our left overs which was great, nothing will go to waste, the food was delicious.

There's also a little gift shop that sells gifts, souvenirs, memorabilia, nostalgic toys and old sweets shop sweets.

We will definitely be coming back.

A must visit, if you are in the area, all day breakfast available, fantastic Roast Beef or turkey Sunday dinners, wonderful selection of cakes and scones available. The whole cafe is a museum and also has some articles from crashed Halifax aircraft nearby. The owner is a passionate historian with many fascinating tales of activities that took place in the area. There is also a wonderful gift shop selling traditional Jared sweets, toys costume jewellery, and gifts. And Well behaved Dogs are welcome.

Wow! Stepping back in time to this cute little tea room! They couldn't make it look any better, full of authentic 1940s memorabilia! Very cool and quirky (and even better on VE day!!!) Cakes were delicious and tea and coffee was served in a cute and quirky way🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🪖🫖🍰

Booked afternoon tea for my dad and myself today at poppylands. The afternoon tea was VE day inspired. The food was absolutely fantastic, presentation was beautiful and everything tasted so fresh and yummy. Big thank you to the staff at poppylands especially the manager who goes above and beyond to deliver some of the best customer service I've ever received. His dedication and passion shows and it truly adds to a fantastic experience. Will definitely be returning for more events at poppylands.

This is a lovely 1940s styled war time tea room. I had a big slice of delicious coffee and walnut cake and a mocha with a spit fire dusted on the top of it. There is so much memorabilia to look at and enjoy. Fantastic.

We went two times after watching seals on the beach. I had hash the first day and a full breakfast the second day. I really enjoyed the WWII inspired atmosphere. We’re from America so we didn’t know about Dad’s Army, so before we went home I bought the dvd of the tv show to watch back home. I think this is a fun restaurant with friendly service and good food.

Warm crackling real fire, very inviting and evocative. Great parking. Outside space for your bikes. Great prices. Do it.
