Towards the end of last year I had a bit of an epiphany and finally decided that yes, I actually do care about how I look! I’ve never been particularly fashion conscious, jeans and a geeky t shirt had served me well for so many years.

Then I discovered hats and got addicted to buying them, after a while I realised that my hats didn’t fit the rest of my style and it kind of looked a bit strange.

I had been aware of Philip James Menswear for a while but had never gone in, I thought it was only a shop for posh people, little did I realise that it is actually a shop for discerning people who care about how they dress.

I go in quite often to do a bit of fantasy shopping and to look at their incredible range of items, from full suits and jackets to designer shirts, ties and shoes. They even sell fabric belts and high quality socks.

Luckily for my bank balance, they also have a large clearance section where you can pick up a real bargain. My fiancé bought me a really amazing Digel corduroy jacket in burgundy and I’m absolutely in love with it, I wear it everywhere, I’m usually the best dressed person in ASDA when I go shopping, and that’s thanks to Philip James!

Be warned, this shop is a gateway, I’m now addicted to designer shirts, particularly Claudio Lugli Italian cotton shirts. I got a white and black spotted shirt in their clearance section and I feel like a million bucks in it, the quality is far beyond anything I have worn before. Yes, they are expensive, but once you wear one you will know why, you haven’t tried a shirt until you have worn a Lugli! My confidence is instantly boosted as soon as I put it on.

The staff are also very friendly, I think this must be how shops used to be, with staff who offer real customer service and treat you like a valued customer whenever you visit.

The whole experience of shopping at Philip James is special, it’s a real treat. I love walking out with one of their fancy carrier bags knowing I’ve got a high quality garment that I am going to feel amazing wearing.
