I've visited Old George a few times over the past couple months, and it's become a favourite!

Comfortable seating and nice atmosphere, great food for great prices and I love their drinks options - every time I've been I've tried something new. I've enjoyed the bacon maple pancakes and the bacon sandwich! And the seasonal blueberry iced matcha was amazing!!

Once was for a friend's birthday, they accommodated a booking of +12 people, another time for brunch with friends, and once has been as a work-from-home treat. I always feel welcome!

Plus the option to order through my phone via QR code or their app is great, as I can browse and not have to queue.

Dog friendly establishment. Puppycino and sausage for the doggy on the menu 🙂 The most elegantly served full English and tasty as well. A pity your equivalent of eggs Benedict doesn't come on anything else than a sourdough but still was good. Thank you.

I'm not enjoying paying in advance. Asking a customer how big a tip they would like to leave up-front is an indication your standards are slipping.

The full English was still presenting itself very elegantly but my egg's yolk wasn't runny. Good Turkish eggs and coffee. Simple desserts.

We’ve been coming to the George for a number of years and it has always been excellent. We visited today for the new menu and the whole visit was disappointing. They’ve taken several items from the menu, including the Nutella pancakes which were always a favourite. The breakfast sandwich was much smaller than usual and my partner left hungry. The food took a while to come out and due to no pancakes, we ordered the children’s portion of them. The pancakes were chewy and it was overall terrible for £5 but we ate them due to still being hungry. The new manager was also quite rude and seemed snappy with his staff and the atmosphere felt tense. If you’re vegan and don’t want a full breakfast or granola then there isn’t much on the menu anymore either. The original staff remain lovely but overall it was poor experience in a usually fabulous place.

Edit: the owner has replied to my reviews on here and Trip advisor- obviously unable to handle any feedback at all and accused me on targeting them across multiple social media sites which is untrue. Very unprofessional responses so I wouldn’t bother raising anything whilst there!

Also states that we made staff feel uncomfortable when we sat outside and waited, paid online and didn’t directly complain about food.

The Old George holds the title of the best full breakfast I've ever tried. Great coffee too.

We love love love Old George at Heritage Mills! Ever since they opened we have been coming here on little brunch dates or with our little man and every time is a great experience. When we have friends or family visiting from out of town we bring them here knowing it’s great every time.
The team are welcoming and friendly, the menu is spot on every time and the coffee (well this is the biggest reason for the shower of love - they know what they are doing)! We also love the tech approach with ordering food and drinks and rewards program for repeat customers is just a great bonus.
Special shout out to the Kidlet Pancakes (with a portion of marshmallows) - love from your number one 6 year old fan!

Old George is a fantastic cafe tucked away in the Heritage Exchange (aka Heritage Mills). After climbing a few stairs you’d be surprised to find that this cafe occupies a large space in the building.

Seating is plenty, the coffee here is great and the food options are equally good if not better. If you want to explore something different or just want a good coffee, I highly recommend you visit Old George.

Lovely chilled atmosphere...food was lovely. My daughter ordered the kids nutella pancakes but we didnt realise they didnt come with strawberries like the adult ones. I asked the man who brought them to us if they were missing and he came back with a little bowl of strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and sliced banana for her free of charge...i thought this was a lovely thing for him to do as it was us that hadnt noticed they didnt come with. Would defo return.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The food is always great and to a high standard. Dogs are welcome and even have their own menu which is a bonus.
I would highly recommend the Old George whether you're just wanting a coffee and a cake or a full meal, the food/drink is always delicious. The dogs enjoy their sausage and a puppuccino too.
