Walked in and just about found somewhere to sit. The rest of the garden centre was relatively quiet, yet the cafe packed. A testament to the cafe. Service is seat yourself, grab a menu and then head up to the till to order. We didn't order any, but their cake selection looked very impressive and are from the same company of another local cafe we really like. Both my partner and I ordered salmon, one on sourdough and one on flatbread. Unfortunately, we were later told after ordering that the kitchen only had one portion of salmon left. Although disappointing, we appreciated the honesty, and even more, appreciated them not trying to stretch the single portion to cover both plates. I swapped my salmon for the bacon and problem solved. Both dishes tasted very nice. Sourdough was adequately toasted, the avocado was nicely smashed for a consistent texture and eggs were poached perfectly. Nice runny yolk with no slimey whites. The coffee was good too. All in all, a lovely little cafe.

Lovely family run garden, only wish I had discovered it sooner! A good range of choice in plants (great quality), pots and other bits and pieces, all varying in price. The cafe is lovely and has a lovely outdoor atea. They make delicious food, but it would be great if they had a few more vegan options!

Should be zero stars. Basic food order for jacket potato and sausage roll. Told 20 min wait. 50 mins later still no sign. After enquiring, jacket arrived but was not what ordered. Sausage roll only arrived when asked for again. Part of meal was refunded when complained again. Over an hour after ordering, jacket potato arrived. Not worth the wait, barely any filling. Staff apologised but didn't seem too bothered. Used to come here quite often and never had problem before even when busy, which it wasn't today by comparison. Won't be returning.

We always thought this place existed, but it took us an age to get around to trying it. We are now hooked. Far from the generic corporate garbage, frippery and hideous clothing and home wear selections in some of the other local chain centres, Oakington is an absolute delight. A brilliant cafe serving food made freshly and with love at good prices, to an excellent selection of things for the garden. Nothing unnecessary here. We bought a superb large pot for a Camelia which had outgrown its original, and a wonderful lemon tree to plant too. The plants throughout are of exceptional quality, look great and the whole site is really well laid out. If a well known Danish beer company ‘did garden centres’, then they’d do this one. Very highly recommended.

Not only did was the "all day brunch menu" no longer available after 2pm (despite what it says on the website) but they apparently had no other gluten free lunch items either!

Very lovely visit to the garden centre today. They had a good selection of spring plants. The cafe was really nice and had wonderful homemade cakes. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Love having a big breakfast here in the Olive Tree every few weeks which is always good quality, but the cold air blowing in the door every time it opens spoils the pleasure a little. Hash browns have shrunk and type of toast should be a choice now rather than just the new crunchy sour dough toast which not everyone can get their teeth through.
