This was a brilliant station to arrive at, set in a suitable location overlooking the Hopetown railway museum! Platform makes sense as only one due to it being a suburb of Darlington and station keeps the sign clear next to the exit, cleanliness was enforced too.

Poor service and poor facilities. There is a roof over the tracks on the platform but passengers are not allowed to shelter underneath it. It looks to be in good repair and trains pass through. Don't catch a train from here if it's raining.

North Road Station is a very suburban station with nothing more than a platform with train services to Bishop Auckland and Saltburn via Darlington Bank Top. Around the station is now a great new retail park. Where you can do plenty of food shopping at Iceland, aldi, morrisons, Greggs and Pound Stretcher. Plus many more retailers.
The station is also home to Head Of Steam. The museum that celebrates Darlington's railways heritage. And they also have many special events such as model railway exhibitions, lego exhibitions and various vintage vehicle events.
Also on the land is the home of the A1 trust. The guys who build brand new steam engines. So popular in and see them and give them a donation so they can keep up there amazing work.
