I remember this shop when I lived in Dunmow as a girl and the Harness maker and sometimes his wife working at the bench in the window .
One day a lorry driver just drove up and unloaded a Shire horse straight onto the pavement which Mr Nicholls then measured up for a Collar !
of course you could park anywhere and do that then ! .
