Wow, quite possibly the best and certainly most beautiful bookshop in England. I spent a fortune on both new and secondhand books. The choice is thoughtfully curated and displayed in a series of imaginatively decorated spaces that are worth a visit in themselves.
The range of craft books is superb and the shop is an inspiration to anyone who loves to reuse repurpose and recycle.

What an amazing book shop, with many books both new and used. The kind of place where you can browse for hours. In the garden is a blue shed containing books that evoked memories from childhood, and the penguin book display reminds me of my parents paperbacks collection.

Small but perfectly formed book lovers book shop (new, collectors and preloved) in a village two-up-one-down, a shepherds hut and a garden shed. All surrounding a gravel garden worthy of Derek Jarman. I only review good places so generally give five stars. But if there were six stars - Much Ado would get them. Less is certainly more here. The new book collection is filled with the latest editions and I saw at least forty books that were on my mental list of ‘might buy’. We bought two books unexpectedly found in the secondhand sections and were rewarded with a home-printed(?) cotton bag and a Christmas poem presented in a tiny scroll tied with a golden ribbon. I wouldn’t live in a village that didn’t have a book shop like this. They even have an honesty section that you can access out of hours.

Honestly such a lovely little shop with books old and new, and an ambiance that is almost magical. Kate and Nash (the owners?) are so warm and friendly, I can’t believe some of the negative comments on here. We purchased two books and based on the topics they immediately got me down to a T with their recommendations and threw in a third one right down my alley for free! Will definitely be back and recommend to friends. (P.S. A lucky dip of poems and a lovely piece of shortbread with our purchase was such a nice friendly touch that you don’t often get these days)
