Window full of great looking meat enticed me inside this little shop and I am glad I did, the service was excellent , so polite and friendly. I bought Barnsley chops from Derbyshire lamb and they were absolutely delicious.

If I lived around here, this would be my go to butcher/baker/deli. I bought a loaf of rye bread, cheese, deli ham and turkey plus fresh bacon. Enough to keep us going for a couple of meals. Service was provided efficiently with a smile and a chat and the items we bought proved to be tasty and of high quality. There were customers both ahead and behind us so it’s clearly popular with the locals. Highly recommended.

We found this place almost by accident. Best pork pie we've ever had! Well seasoned meat, not too much aspic and the pastry was perfect.

The steak and ale pies were sublime, tender and tasty meat, rich gravy and not too much pastry. Most importantly not too much air inside the pastry case either. Next time we're in this part of the country I'm sure we'll be back for more.

We were served by a friendly and knowledgeable chap who had been up preparing the day's wares before opening time - how's that for dedication?
