Me and my friend drove up for a night away, perfect location surrounded by great views and walks from the doorstep! The food is amazing and big portions!
The lovely Claire was very welcoming and accommodating! Definitely recommend especially if you have dogs ! Was a bonus to see so many cute dogs. Thank you for a lovely stay

We had a fantastic first visit here for Sunday lunch. The food was fresh and home-cooked, with a delicious starter—brie wedges served with salad and red onion. The soup was also amazing! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were outstanding—so friendly and welcoming. We loved that they allow dogs, though we didn’t bring ours this time. If you’re in the area, definitely give this place a try 😊

The location was great for what we wanted, walking.
The staff were very friendly, Clint Eastwood was great serving breakfast and the lads in the evening were helpful and pleasant.
The rooms were clean but basic, the beds were, not the comfiest.
The bar area was lovely, the food menu could do with being tinkered with.
On the whole a nice place to stay, our dog loved it!

Lovely hotel, really friendly and welcoming, fantastic views over Hathersage. Super dog friendly. Great food and breakfast. We had the family room looking over Surprise View. Room had all the facilities you’d want and lots of space for the dogs too. It’s only 2 mins into Hathersage town centre and lots of walks right from the front of the pub car park. Will def return.

Booked this place for 1 night as we were travelling through the area . As it was dog friendly. The room was very tired looking and needed a lot of updating, tap in bathroom was broken shower tray was dirty the floor was dusty and dirty. The whole room needs attention. Booked on a bed and breakfast. Breakfast was nice . Lovely area/ views sadly won't be returning

Very friendly staff who were very welcoming and provided great service. Evening meal was lovely even though we ordered late and appreciated them accommodating us even though it was a last minute food order. Room was comfortable and clean. Also brought our dog and he had a great time too. Would stay here again.

A perfect place as a base for walking in the Peak District. We were made very welcome as soon as arrived and all checked in and added breakfast, pet stay and facilities explained. Our first time travelling with a dog and comforting experience.

The pub is warm and comfy with open fires and a sofa to chill all afternoon.

Dinner was tasty and had one of the pubs special pies.

Cooked breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty.

All in all, a perfect place to base yourself for a couple of days in the Peak District. Thanks

I booked last minute to get out of the city with my dog, and to wake up somewhere I could head straight on a dog walk after breakfast. I received a really warm welcome, as did my dog, and the room was perfect. The location was great for heading on a hike, and the full English was also excellent. If you are travelling with a dog, or just like to be around dogs then this hotel is ideal.
