I am truly impressed by the professionalism and individual approach of the team at Mike Harbord Opticians in Winterbourne. From the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely welcomed and treated with care and respect. My eye examination was carried out with great precision using advanced diagnostic methods, including intraocular pressure measurement and a thorough refraction assessment.

The optometrist took time to explain the results clearly and provided me with a perfectly tailored optical correction, ensuring both accuracy and everyday visual comfort. I also received expert guidance in choosing frames, taking into account important individual parameters such as pupillary distance (PD) and face shape.
It was clear that their priority was my eye health and satisfaction—not sales or profit. In the past, I had to travel to my home country to receive this level of care. Now, I’ve found a place I can fully trust.

I won’t be returning to any chain opticians. Mike Harbord Opticians are true professionals, and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for quality eye care and eyewear.

Fantastic team at Mike Harbord Opticians! Been a customer for many years and both of my children also have their annual exams here. Samantha has always been patient with my children and they both feel confident around her to respond to her throughout the exam. Samantha has always given detailed advice about the care of my contact lenses and general eye health. Booking an appointment is always easy and the collection of a fresh box of contact lenses usually takes a couple of days. Thank you Mike and Sam and keep up the good work.

This is a fantastic opticians. I have my eyes tested here every three years, and that process is very straight forward. There isn't normally a long wait for appointments. They have a great range of frames, and I've just ordered some new frames and lenses from them as I've been using a single pair or reading glasses for the past year. This was triggered by a recent problem with my frames. This was handled incredibly well, and at the mere hint of me suggesting there might be a problem, I was told that they would replace the frames as they were under warranty. It took 2 days to get my frames replaced. So thanks to the team at Mike Harbord for their quality choice in products, but also their excellent customer service.

Had my glasses chewed by our new puppy and tried Specsavers for a new set of frames for lenses. They didn't want to know very unhelpful. Harboard however demonstrated customer service to the top levels. Had a new frame with my old lenses in less than 30 minutes and such a reasonable price too. Love them great team great value totally recommend A+++

Great opticians, really professional and excellent customer service. They have a good selection of frames or will fit lenses to your own if you prefer. Lenses are good too, they use a local company for those so it's a quick turnaround on prescription work. Recommended.

Absolutely first-class in all respects. The eye examination was thorough and unhurried, with Ajmeen explaining all aspects of the procedure. I knew I was in need of reading glasses and the tests confirmed this. It was a bit wierd seeing a three-dimensional image of my eyeball, complete with dead blood vessels suspended in jelly. Did I say that the examination was thorough? I could feel my wallet contracting and next year's holiday a caravan in Skegness as Mr Harbord led me towards the truly vast array of frames on display - but he plucked out a pair of ready readers and said that they would be fine at ten quid. So I pushed the boat out and bought a pair for twelve quid. They are remarkably well made and look, well, perhaps not quite a million dollars, but easily several multiples of the purchase price.

Having lived in the village for almost twenty years and seen shops come and go, I wondered how an optician could survive the pressure of the big chains and Internet sellers. Now I know - absolute professionalism, investment in technology and complete honesty. Thank you Ajmeen, Mike and the lovely person on the front desk. I might not be your best customer but you are certainly my first and only choice when it comes to my eyes. Thanks PR

Lost a nose pad went in to see if they could mend. They mended and gave frames a general "MOT". When I asked for Bill, there was no charge.. very good service.
