I ordered lasagna and unfortunately it was overcooked and with no true flavour. It also seems warmed in the microwave. My kids had kids menu (burger and chicken nuggets). The burger was quite good. If I had ordered probably the chef special (egg pouched) probably the experience would be different.

Popped in here for lunch after a visit to the bookshop down the road. We both had a wrap, shared some chips and had a drink each. Great service, and they even let me customise my wrap. Amazing flavour and quantity of food in the wraps.
If we didn’t live so far away, we’d definitely be regulars!

April 2024 Update: Stopped off mid bike ride for a lamb wrap and a rocky road cake, all washed down with a delicious coffee. Lovely food, very attentive and friendly service, busy active atmosphere. Thank you 🙂
April 2022 Update: went back for a Brownie and a coffee today, and it was lovely and delivered quickly. Thank you
March 2022: I was a little disappointed with my visit to Matilda's overall this time, but the food was good and the service was friendly as always.
There was a very long wait in the queue to order, and an even longer wait for the food to arrive, and then yet another wait for the coffee.
To be fair, there was a sudden surge of hungry cyclists who had just arrived (me being one of them!), and I guess that this just overwhelmed the staff at that time.
I will return for another meal/snack in the future though! ?

When you’re in Missenden and need a coffee this is the place to go. Friendly service, nice coffee and good prices.
Lovely fresh food and an amazing cooked breakfast. No need to go to C*#$ta next door (unless it’s free).
