Been delighted with the great service Matheson Optometrists Grayshott offered me while getting my new pair of glasses. The hardest part of the whole experience was deciding which pair of glasses to get because their shelves are filled with all sorts of fancy designer and high quality eye-catching spectacles. In the end, surprisingly, the David Beckham range they are offering is what bought me and I have gotten this pair as a prescription spectacle that stays clear indoors and turns into sunglass outdoors.
I totally recommend investing in our vision because it drastically improves our quality of life and it is something that we use daily.

On the upside, they were helpful when I had to change my appointment time because of work. However, they ran over twenty minutes late for my eye test with no explanation or apology - I was just ignored for all the time I was waiting, and was about to walk out when I was finally called.

The test was conducted by a student (unsupervised), but I was still charged an eye-watering (ha ha) £49, which is way over the going rate - with no additional checks compared with what Vision Express charge £30 for.

I was told my prescription had changed "a little" but it's more than twice as strong as my previous one (from elsewhere), with which I can read fine. Separately I tried a pair of reading glasses with the same strength as the new prescription, and can barely read anything through them, so I've no faith in the new prescription and will instead have another pair made up to the previous one, which works.

The shop itself is a bit tired looking, with a scruffy reception desk, wonky cupboard doors, and harsh lighting. At these prices they could put some effort into the shop's appearance. Or offer a drink while you wait. And telling people you're running late and apologising is free.

£49 for a standard eye test is outrageous.
