This lovely BnB was a great find. The hosts were very kind and helpful. Apple cake on arrival was a very welcoming touch. The room was spotless and the bed linen was great quality . Lovely to have proper bath sheets too. |The breakfast was excellent - especially the home made baked beans and the apple compote and poached fruit .

Another great visit to Market Cross. Amanda and Steve are fantastic hosts and welcomed us all with cake. All of the 4 bedrooms are well presented and spotlessly clean. The breakfast choice is first class and very tasty. We cannot praise this accommodation highly enough and deserves its 5 star AA rating. I am sure we will return again. Dave & Ann

Just back from an amazing stay at Market Cross, just perfect in every way...so welcoming, spotlessly clean, great home cooking and plenty of choices for breakfast, thick fluffy white towels in the very well appointed bathrooms - top of the range toiletries, comfy beds, great tips on where to go...day trip to Edinburgh by train! Such a lovely few days away, thank you Amanda and Steve....we will definitely be returning.

Fabulous room and bathroom - so big you can float in it! All the wonderful touches you would expect from a top class hotel. Fresh cooked, tasty breakfast - caters for special dietary requirements. Amanda and Steve are fantastic hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. Heartily recommend.

Our 5th stay and just as perfect as the previous 4 visits! We love absolutely everything about Market Cross Guest House - Amanda and Steve certainly know how to make their guests feel very well looked-after and relaxed. Spotlessly clean, so comfortable and fabulous home-cooked food and goodies. Brilliant that it's in such a lovely area too, with lots to see and do, so we can always have an excuse to come back! Steve and Amanda are excellent hosts. Breakfast was excellent sourced by local suppliers. They even accommodated our request, providing cereals at 6am and takeaway sandwich as our friends from the USA needed to catch an early flight from Newcastle. The rooms are very comfortable, spotlessly clean with high quality linens and large smart TV. We will return

We stayed one week in this lovely place and we enjoyed every day. Amanda and Steve are perfect hosts, the food was of extraordinary quality and it is a charming place to be. Local bus station right in front of the house secures mobility even without a car. Our hosts have been very helpful. including extra wishes like renting bikes or watching Handball on TV - which is not easy in the UK 🙂 They have highly deserved all of the awards they've received so far.

The accommodation is faultless!|Steve and Amanda are friendly and really helpful. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. We had a delicious breakfast every morning and homemade biscuits in our room.|We enjoyed our visit so much we have booked to go back again in the Spring.
