Consider booking ahead and reserving a table, as this place will be busy and deservedly so. Great menu of gorgeous food, with an excellent loose leaf tea selection. They serve a large amount of local produce, with an obvious strength in obvious options such as cheese. There is a lovely and relaxing garden outdoors seating option. The portions are as generous as the food is served hot and fresh.

Recommended.

I just wanted to share a quick note about our recent visit to the tea room on the 4th of July.

This was our second time stopping by and the service and food were as excellent as we remembered from our first visit. The afternoon tea was delightful, and we would highly recommend this beautiful spot to anyone.

Also, it's great to see that dogs are welcome, it adds a lovely touch to the whole experience.

Thanks for making our visit so enjoyable.

Just had the most excellent and very filling ploughmans here.
The staff were very polite.
Lovely and clean.
I recommend a trip here.

Unfortunately Cheddar itself, and I've been a regular here for 30 years, is looking very drab and run down. Such a shame as it let's places like this lovely tearoom down.

Very friendly staff and cozy surroundings full of character. The scones were good but more like a sponge rather than crumbly biscuity. Good value considering they serve loose tea.

There is an outside eating area at the rear (accessed via stairs inside) which is indeed a secluded garden. It was nice that our small dog was welcomed too. The sandwiches are amazing and even though it was hot, I decided to try their Hot Chocolate and I must say, it was 1 of the best I've had. I would imagine that it gets very busy, we came early in the day and it was very relaxing.

Fabulous little Tea Shop. We booked in advance as it is very popular and busy in the high season. We were delighted with the Afternoon Tea. It was quite a meal and we were glad that we'd not had a big lunch before going.
Thank you for a super treat, we loved it.

After searching on an online forum for recommended places to eat in Cheddar for someone with very severe coeliac disease, we came here with no hesitation. We didn't book a table but were lucky enough to be seated in a lovely cottage/country themed room downstairs. The waitress was just gorgeous - inside and out. Extremely knowledgeable, asked straight away if anyone in our party had allergies, then went straight into explaining how they cook in separate fryers/wear gloves, etc.

My daughter opted for the cheddar and ham GF sandwich with chips, followed by GF carrot cake. She was so happy! And no CC reaction after - a HUGE win!

Overall, our party was extremely happy with the service, price, food, presentation, and setting. An idyllic hidden gem amongst Cheddar Gorge

Lovely service and nil pressure, the staff happily let us review the menu before taking a table.

The cheeseboard is to die for and the loaded chips were unfault-able, surprisingly the chips remained perfectly crisp.
We will definitely be back here next time we are In the area.
