I went there to Fish.
Amazing place as even though the morning weather was terrible with a constant downpour the fish were still willing and waiting. I caught my largest fish first oddly and they sort of tiered down in size from then but a good days fishing with a nice big mirror, a couple of perch and some nice 2 pound F1s to follow. Was my first visit but will definitely be visiting again as I was literally there from dawn til dusk. There's a great bait and tackle shop on site where I bought a float and some bait.
There's also a nice cafe where you can get hot coffee and a full English with very nice staff who are only too willing to help.

Sited at the caravan park with my camper meant a good long walk to the bins and a decent long walk to the showers and toilets. Decided to just take my rubbish home and as such just stored it in the back. One thing desperately needed is the road/path from the caravan park upgrading to tarmac or all new gravel. A walk to the anglers is strewn with deep puddles and very poorly lit at night. Don’t wear decent footwear as they will be covered in muddy water. Looks like a lots going on here with various site upgrades so maybe they will sort the road out. Another issue is a lack of electric hook up points on the pitches. I had to search through bushes a few pitches down to find one. Great location and quiet.

A very mixed bag. I'll end with the positives so here goes with the negatives.||I was camping and arrived mid afternoon. A message on the reception window advised to call a number, which I did.||After 20 mins on the wet, waiting for a call back I went to the fishing supply shop. The chap told me I could camp where I could find a space by the caravans. No directions to the toilets, showers or water tap.||Put the tent up, went to find the showers but they were in a disgusting condition so I didn't bother. The toilets were also way below Β£25 a night for a single tent.||The phone call back from reception never happened.||Onto the positives. It's a nice walk round the fishing lakes the staff in the Anglers Arms would lovely and the breakfast was fabulous for a Β£10. Full marks to the Anglers Arms.

Great place to come fishing.
Great pitches for camping. Even though it was totally differently explain in person as it was on the website.
No rubbish areas provided.
No baby changing facilities.
Bo disabled facilities.
no washing up area either!
Camping for two nights and had to leave rubbish in the tent all day to smell as there was no big bins available.

There was a function on tonight 13/7/24 and I've never in my life been made to feel so little! Got told to sit in a corner of the Anglers Arms if I wanted to have a drink as there was a function on.I'm camping for the weekend, no food was been served and didn't get told till 5 this evening. No notice what's so ever. Very disappointed with the stay. I was looking at coming back with other family members. But won't both now. They need a different private function room so it doesn't affect visitors or regulars. As then I was left to feel very small and felt like I needed to go back to the tent as I wasn't welcome at the pub.

Amazing place!
I found this place a year ago, Once I arrived I loved it. Came back again yesterday.

All the spaces for tents are big enough, with a good view of the playground so I can see my kids and still chill out next to my tent area.
The holiday park is absolutely quiet and the countryside is amazing!

I haven't tried the café yet, but I've been told that it is really good, so I will try it. The toilets and shower are huge and clean like at 🏠 home.

Absolutely recomended!

The staff are lovely. The Anglers arms great. Having said that the touring part needs attention. Only 1 dog poo bin overflowing all over the floor. Pitches overgrown and untidy. Obviously clear that the fishing is favourable. Aarron clearly needs too up his game for the tourers after all we pay the same daily rental.
