I basically travelled to Holmfirth on a friend's recommendation about Lick and what a fabulous place. The ice cream is delicious with stunning flavours, but the bubble waffle was stupendous and I'm not usually a fan of waffles. The staff were lovely and brought out my ice cream to a bench across the road as I have crutches and would have struggled. I had Pistachio and Cherry Ripple.

Called in to Lick last Friday with my Grandchild who has a dairy allergy so cannot have normal ice cream . She is nearly 4 and so loved the ice cream. My Husband and myself also had an ice cream cornet. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will call again

ice cream was awful. My partners milkshake was the worst milkshake I’ve ever tasted, didn’t really see any signs that said it was all dairy free, seen a few people say the same thing. I feel as though that’s something that should be stated on the shop sign. not that I have a problem with that as supermarket dairy free ice cream can actually be ok. was served by somebody who couldn’t have seemed any less interested. They might aswell have a robot there as it might actually show a bit more character. Wouldn’t recommend I which I’d gone to the other one around the corner

I need you all to hear this. I need you to understand the impact this place had on myself and my family today.

My 3yo son has a dairy allergy. Not an intolerance that makes him a little loose, but an allergy that makes him bleed if he eats dairy. Imagine having to always say no to your child when they see kids eating ice cream. Always saying they can't have what all the other kids have. Seeing that look of wanting and disappointment in your baby's eyes EVERY BLOODY TIME. It breaks you. It. Makes you feel like you failed in the one job you should never fail at.

No imagine making a visit to Holmefirth for the first time. Having a fantastic day exploring and playing on a hot summer's day. We went to the shops and hunted for a dairy free picnic and ate it in the park and then just out of curiosity took a look to see if we could get a dairy free ice-cream in this town. HOLY HELL!!! The whole place is bloody dairy free!!!

To the owners, you may have made this place dairy free for personal and environmental reasons, but I want you to know that your choices have had the most monumental impact on us. To be able to tell our son "pick whatever you want" is all we have ever wanted to do and you made this possible for the very first time. We thank you from the bottom of of hearts. Xxx
