Just awful. Sent me a laptop which was great for a month but then stopped working. Sent it back and the lack of communication was staggering. A month later, after much chasing and 3 missed promised delivery dates, i was told the laptop can not be repaired.

I was offered an alternative laptop which was older and lower spec and was told this laptop would not come with a new warranty.... I declined the laptop and asked for a refund. Only to be told I was not allowed a refund and I must either take the offered replacement or wait indefinitely for my broken laptop to be repaired (which I'd already been told they can't fix).

After an hour of conversations and being told I MUST choose an alternative product, they eventually agreed to refund any difference in cost between replacement and original Item, chose my alternative product (a £0.97p charging cable) and said they had already agreed to refund the difference in value...... they then agreed to a full refund.

Disgraceful customer service.

Bought a new phone at a really great price (cheaper than Amazon, Argos etc). Arrived the next day even though I hadn't paid for next day delivery. They kept me updated with my order progress. Would definitely use again.

Avoid this company at all costs – they are negligent, dishonest, and take no responsibility!
I sent my laptop for a warranty repair, and their courier stole it. Nobody ever took accountability for theft, BUT: the driver failed to scan the collection barcode, refused to give me a receipt, and then marked the collection as failed, claiming I wasn’t home – and the laptop NEVER to be seen again! Even though I have CLEAR HIGH QUALITY video evidence from my doorbell camera proving otherwise, theft was never acknowledged.

Instead of acknowledging the theft and taking responsibility, this company delayed everything for seven-eight weeks, claiming they were investigating. During this time, they kept me waiting, gave no real updates, and completely disregarded the significant impact this was having on me. When they finally responded, they simply told me my laptop was “lost” and offered a refund for the price I had paid 2 years ago under student discount, and after confronting them that this is not fair and I cannot buy an equivalent laptop today with this price, they offered me a replacement laptop. The laptop they sent me after two months as a replacement never turned on and had to be returned... And to this day, I still don't have a laptop after 9 weeks.

I am a final-year PhD student, and my laptop was my primary work tool. It contained all my research, sensitive data, software, and project work, as well as sensitive personal and financial data, which thanks to them was now compromised. This is over 2 months now that I'm (hardly) working on loaned substandard laptops. Because of their incompetence and refusal to act quickly, I have lost critical time in my studies, and now I will not be able to meet my strict submission deadline in six months.

The consequences of their negligence are huge for me:

If I don’t submit on time, I will lose my scholarship bursary, which is my only financial support.
I will be forced to apply for a write-up year, meaning I will have to stay an extra year and pay for it myself.
I am unable to have a job while finishing my PhD, so I have no way to cover these extra costs.
The stress and uncertainty have severely impacted me mentally.
Throughout this entire ordeal, they have refused to acknowledge the theft, ignored the fact that their own courier was responsible, and have taken zero accountability for the massive financial, academic, and psychological damage they have caused. A simple replacement laptop does not fix the fact that I have lost months of research and am now being forced to extend my studies through no fault of my own.

This company does not care about its customers, does not take accountability, and will leave you to deal with the consequences of their mistakes. If you value your time, money, and personal data, DO NOT trust Laptops Direct.

I bought a laptop based on a staff member’s recommendation. Unfortunately, the device failed just three weeks later. I promptly sent it off for repair on 9th September. Since then, communication has been a major issue. I’ve made numerous calls, only to be met with vague responses about part availability and delivery times.

For over a month and a half, I was left in the dark, with no updates or clear information about the status of my repair. Despite confirming my delivery address multiple times, the repaired laptop was mistakenly sent back to the repair centre. I was then told the quickest way to get my device back would be to drive to Huddersfield and collect it myself.

To add insult to injury, I was informed that there would be no compensation beyond a refund of the delivery fee, which would be negated by the cost of fuel to drive to Huddersfield.

The lack of customer service, transparency, and timely resolution has been incredibly frustrating. The staff were extremely unhelpful, and I was often left on hold for ages, only to be told a manager would call back hours later.

I strongly advise potential customers to think carefully before dealing with Laptops Direct.

SUMMARY: I would think *very* hard before buying anything of any value from Laptops Direct, and be aware that if it is stolen en route to you, you will be blamed and you will not be refunded.

We have been the victim of phone theft and fraud, yet we're being asked to investigate and we aren't being given a refund.

The customer service has been superficially adequate at best, and completely ineffectual and deliberately obfuscating at worst.

We'll be taking them to court and a legal process can examine the evidence that Laptops Direct seem insistent to conveniently ignore, despite it overwhelmingly and clearly demonstrating we are the victims and that they failed in their contractual duty to deliver the product to us.

I had recently purchased my own phone from them with success and I was about to leave positive reviews! However, this latter issue means I will genuinely never use Laptops Direct again, which they might not realise is a bit of a shame, considering I had a gaming PC in my basket! Oh well.

Sadly, nothing can provide satisfaction in this awful process anymore, so all I'm left with is taking joy from knowing they missed out on plenty more future business from me.

I had a terrible experience with this product/service. I never received my order because the courier didn’t even attempt to contact me or inform me that they couldn’t find my address, which is very easy to locate. The customer service was disappointing as well. They were unhelpful, offered no real solutions, and simply apologized without resolving the issue. Extremely frustrating and unprofessional!

Spent 740£ on new gaming PC, arrived damaged box and foam surrounding it is intact which can only mean they packed it this way, spoke to Magdalena post purchase customer service barely can speak English not saying that understanding basic language was not her strong suit, she was referring to PC docking stations as laptop at first then it became monitor, offered me discount even so I explained that the cover which mother board is attached is significantly bent, then spoke to her manager Mira who told me it will 2 weeks before I may receive ?replacement or refund. All I wanted was new PC for my disabled child and now all I got is disappointment!!!

I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S23 sim-free mobile phone at a very competitive price. Great range to choose from. Brilliant customer services with a follow up call on the day of delivery.

Delivery was tracked with DPD. Overall a great experience and I would shop again with Laptops Direct. You are dealing with real people though an online service you are still talking to a real person who will call you and be there to follow up on your purchase.
